Worth it to a new player or an alt, sure. Veterans shouldn't have any need for these so I don't see much value here. We knew years in advance that empyrean upgrades were coming. I'm not sure it's elite to have taken that as a cue to finish.

Six get-out-of-Chloris-free cards are still worthwhile to most players who haven't already done everything and quit out of boredom.

Given that one of the non-daily options is to do an ENM, which of the four are even remotely do-able? They all have a painful level cap. I'm wondering how people are doing this one solo, if it's even possible.

If I remember correctly from previous rounds, the trick is to take beastmaster and pop a high-level pet before you go on; the pet doesn't get dismissed, and its level isn't fully reduced or something. Not sure which pet, exactly, was the best for it though.
The promy ones? I guess you can do it with BST but I don't play that crap. I doubt any other job could solo them, maybe PUP? I think you could probably do MNK WHM, especially with coalition potions and/or ethers.

Solo'd the promy vahzl one with regen drinks and coalition potions/ether/vile elixir/+1 on BLU, bludgeon smacks that stuff good

Well, if you wait around for the right campaigns it would certainly take longer than just biting the bullet and getting it done. Maybe if people weren't dragging so many mules through ambu, they wouldn't have so much currency to make them think they need a new weapon every month?

That hasn't been my experience but if I doubled the time to two hours would it really change the point? Just go get the buds - you need 44 more anyway.

I spent all day yesterday working through these quests and the only thing I had in mind by the time I couldn’t solo them anymore was… “this isn’t fun”.

A PUP geared up with the Up in Arms attachment set and Overdrive is able to do all ENMs/BCNMs/ENMs/level capped special battlefields required for Vana'bout. Mercenary Camp and Heroine's Combat may require a use of Repair (+2 oil since +3 won't work at 60 cap). Eat a grape daifuku if you're worried about your puppet's accuracy.
As mentioned earlier in the thread, Sultry Patrice also works for at least the BCNM20/30/50s that have come up. Use Bestial Loyalty outside the BC and let it rip with Fluid Spread/Toss. No 1hr needed.
For today's rusty item objective, the little sewer next to AH in Bastok Mines with Lu Shang/Sabiki Rig gets you done real quick.

See this post for the puppet setup.
These fights are all synced so the master's gear is pretty irrelevant. The only thing you'd absolutely need is an animator. I use the one from Odyssey and have no issues. (Not sure if the behavior modification for puppets on the different types of animators even works synced to be honest.) If you're really worried, bring a few level appropriate oils for Repair and a daifuku of your choice.
I'm sure there are other attachment setups that would work, but I haven't had an issue with this one and don't care enough to customize it depending on the fight.
You all made it sound like the ENM was going to be a pain in the ***.
-Go to Dem
-Enter the Spire
-Call Beast, Slime Familiar
-Enter the fight
-Attack enemy with slime
-Use fluid toss as needed on adds/babies
-Use Digest to heal pet
-Done.
