SE DMCA against private server streams?!?!?
I just found out I have less subs on youtube than Draylo and suddenly my day is ruined.
Just kidding Draylo I love you buddy
I saw an Eden streamer get one of these. I'd definitely assume they're real considering the amount that have been posted. I'll be curious to see if they continue sending those out.
2.3 Commercial Use. You may not exploit the Game for any commercial purpose (for example, advertising any product or service in-game, or use by the operator of a cyber café) without SQUARE ENIX’s prior written consent.
2.4 Private Servers. You may not create, operate, participate in or use any unauthorized servers intended to emulate the Game. its literally right there in their EULA, and when you are jumping up and down waving glow sticks in the air shouting your product is better than theirs you are putting a bullseye on your forehead and standing in front a firing squad. Its weird seeing this website turn full bootlicker.
Highly doubt ppl would feel this way if someone streaming retail got dmca'd. Before you try to say its different, its not. Its selective abuse of a system that SE shouldn't have. If the game went away tomorrow then you'd have to rely on the same ppl that make private servers to play the game. Companies dont have a requirement to make their systems accessible after they decide it isnt profitable to keep up, then the game vanishes to history. Not to mention SE should putting time to make the game better, rather than try to damage communities around the game. Do note: I dont play on a private server nor do i watch ppl stream ffxi I don't get dmca'd, I get YMCA'd.

I would jump back into creating things for this game if they actually started doing this. They did mention Mrhappy in the stream they did for XI today, although not sure how deep those two are in working for SE. I was surprised they talk about other content creators but that was nice. I think the players / bots (aka paid advertising) going onto SE / FFXI official social media and saying "come play Horizon XI, FFXI is dead" lit a bit of a fire under SE's *** in regards to private servers. Either it was one thing that crossed the line where they felt it was no longer a fun "pet project" hobby, or maybe it was a culmination of many things that finally got it on their radar.
every horizon "the reason SE hasn't gone after private servers and their content creators is because they can't do anything about it lol lmao!!!" cope post is aging so poorly rn

They already secretly showed me what they can do and can't do. It's crazy how they can rule pretty much anything literally this game. Bahamut.Leonof said: » Not to mention SE should putting time to make the game better, rather than try to damage communities around the game. Private servers aren't damaging to retail? I feel like you walked into the room to see one kid punch the other kid and just punish them. Oblivious to the fact that the kid who got punched was stealing from the other kid and talking ***for a decade... Private servers aren't taking anything from square. It is a non-issue.
If they really think a pile of 14 zoomers are gonna come over and try out 11 and last more than an hour of this masochist *** they're sorely mistaken. (You'd have to be brain dead to start a live service game 20 years deep... but anyone who would play an mmo is that... so... but yeah) Quote: Don't get me wrong, I know a lot of people hate Horizon I don't think posters here hate Horizon or private servers. Mostly its just, why are we talking about private servers? Cool, don't want to pay the monthly fee and want to get your fix... go for it. It's not retail, its a poor facsimile. Kindof like CBD oil etc products. Its a lame issue and doesn't have any importance except as just to talk about the weather. Phatic. Yeah, you stream that ***publicly you're gonna gain attention from the bear and rightly so, just like how they banned that samurai dude that 5 boxed teaching scripting. Ironically, the more people talk about private servers on this #1 NA ffxi site, the more likely SE will shut them down. Did all you Horizon posters forget the first rule of fight club? XIV is 13 years old, what is the cut off for playing an old MMO lol. If it retains or invites even a handful of new users thats still money in their books, so seems worth the investment. The best time to start an MMO is literally never. Not day 1, not day 100 not day 1000 and not day (7500 give or take).
An old RPG whenever. That's not live service. Just fyi, Eiryl's more addicted than anyone here. He's running 1000 accounts, and he derives zero enjoyment from it.

Point to where i said it was protected. the point is it should be protected, and that youre a bootlicker for siding with a company abusing its power. Bahamut.Leonof said: » abusing its power Do you share this same "ITS ABUSE OF POWER" energy towards every musician whos legal team sends out DMCA's because 3 minutes of their audio wound up on a stream? Ask how well its worked out with the smash community or reviewers when they give a bad review to a game. you mean someone streaming a pirated/bootlegged copy of their game? lol Except HorizonXI is not SE's game. It is a pirated / emulated / stolen / whatever word you want to use to describe it version of their game.
If your arguement is its not SEs game, then you should agree they shouldnt be able to strike it.
Stolen doesnt apply to digital copies emulation is a protected by law You can argue its piracy, but youd be wrong. And EVEN if you were right, streaming the a pirated game shouldnt be able to DCMA. A pirated game and bought game arent different. Only the arbitrary reason the company can come up with to strike it is different. Since youll make up any excuse to be a bootlicker, i guess ill leave this conversation. Apparently one of the streamers that got got made a huge QQ video and they're sourcing posts here. Next time lemme know when you got the camera on me, I'd make a shoutout to the homies from Gilgamesh, I be holding it down.
