SE DMCA against private server streams?!?!?

If there were any amount of worry given, they would C&D horizon. They would instantly ***their pants and close it down on the spot. They wouldn't even consider fighting it.
Problem would be instantly and completely solved. Not even a real C&D, just the notice. There wouldn't be any process. Any lawyers. Anything. 3 words.
I mean, they probably don't care about private servers, unless someone is pushing them to social media. It's the same for addons and bots right? They don't care much, but make a guide on using some of those on YT and you will get hit instantly like Ejiin. I think it's just a matter of showing on their radar (possibly with help of people reporting it).

Wasn't Yoshida asked about private servers before and his response was that he was indifferent to them? Maybe that changed recently.
Also, if people were seriously promoting private servers on SE's official channels, that's beyond idiotic.

That's got to be bots, most people are too damn lazy to go to official channels to do that. However, there's always exceptions.

NASA was like 100x worse than FFXIAPP, so it's not shocking that triggered SE to finally do something. ***, one HNM LS on my server back then all transferred to another because of NASA.

A lot of them did appear to be bots and from clicking their profiles it makes sense now. A lot were also not bots either because they would respond to me (not very kindly either.) Who knows at this point, their ad push has reached so far apparently.

pretty simple to understand why the streamers got DMCA'd...
they were likely doing a dry run of their stupid primed for adventure stream and that was their interaction with ffxi/twitch for the year and they noticed that there were 0 retail streams and 50 private server streams. they likely DMCA'd them on the spot since no actual legal document needs to be sent to do so.
pretending it's more than something like that with absolutely no proof is why you all ended up so disappointed after the 20th anniversary. stop feeding into this masochistic mentality.

They're lawyers, they are likely aware they don't have a great chance at winning that fight. Better to just pick fights they can easily win. It costs them pretty much nothing to instruct an hourly office worker to point and shoot at the content creators though.

There's an absolute zero chance it would go beyond notification and deletion. Darkstar folded instantly, so will every other server with zero fight.

The DMCAs do seem to be real, whether they originated from SE or some third party can't really be determined at this time. But Thorny pointed out the high legal risk of posing as an entity to make a DMCA claim. The exact portion of the videos in teh claims apparently can not be reviewed by the streamers so they are unsure of what EXACTLY they did, for example:
Some people think those who stand in defense of SE decision to take action, are being mean/bootlicky.
Some people think those who stand in defense of Horizon/Streamers, are being ignorant/entitled
Why did SE take action now? Some Theories Presented:
Primed for Adventure, SE official ffxi stream, was going to go through some prechecks and noticed all the blatant private server streams and reported it.
Horizon "ads" have appeared in comments on official ffxi posts, and this was how they responded.
The crossover event with FFXIV means more community attention on FFXI so this level of private server content is a bit embarrassing and needed to be cleaned up.
Someone randomly ended up on the page and decided to take action.
It was not SE and was actually some hater who had nothing left to lose.
