Anyone Have Corrected Attack Formula?

I'm looking at BG Wiki attack formula:

Attack = 8 + Combat Skill + STR

but this just isn't adding up.

I might be missing something... but I don't think so. I wonder if this was ever rechecked thoroughly from the 2018 str update.

example:
Galka BST/NIN Mlvl 50
STR 156
Attack with only Aymur equipped: 993
Aymur Axe skill +269
Axe Skill: 490
Attack Bonus from JP Gifts: 85

This adds up to 1008

if I use a non-ilvl axe that doesn't have axe skill+ on it, I still have problems.

Aern Axe level 1:
attack is 724, but adding them up it should be 739.

something is off, anyone know what?


edit: formula works for my level 99 warrior with no job points. even with ilvl weapon.

edit2: its always 15 attack less. no matter which weapon. does bst have a 15 attack penalty?

edit3: well in my traditional fashion I can't figure things out till I spout my fingers off and embarrass myself.
counted attack from gifts incorrectly.

Hmmm... I didn't know they adjusted the attack formula to be always 1:1... cool.
