I recently finished Ryunohige and noticed AM only replaced lower tiers and doesn’t reapply current tier. With DRG, typically AM3 falling off correlate with my jump timers being ready so I’ve been doing WS -> spirit -> soul right before it drops off so I can immediately do a 3k Drakes to reapply. Is that the most efficient method as a DRG, and what is the best method with other classes as I plan on doing a few more Mythics? TIA!

The way you described it is a fine way to do it, or if you are aggressively using Jumps to multi step and don’t have them ready when AM3 is going to fall off, you can just naturally TP to 3k with AM3 up and Drakes again as soon as it wears off. That’s what I typically do. You can WS with about ~10 seconds to go on AM3 and hit or come close to 3k just as it wears off. I follow the latter approach for Tiz/Lib/Carn as well.

Spirit Jump is a 1min timer or 50sec if merited so as long as you are using it on cooldown you have most of your TP ready a little bit before or just after AM3 wears.

I'm more conservative with my jumps as a hate shedding tool, rather than a DPS increase, so I tend to follow the latter approach as Lunafreya describes it for Tizona (BLU), DRK (Liberator) and Carnwenhan (BRD).

Your posted reminded me that I actually haven't updated much of my DRG sets ever since the ML cap was 20.

How do you find DRG's weapons tiers (Ryunohige / Trishula, etc) as you approach M50 or gear with Odyssey Rank 30 augments. (People tend to say 'Trisula all the way', but I'm looking for some substance to the cnversation.

I, for one, have trouble keeping Mythic AM3 up on content that requires lots of running or pausing. Also, if I'm with another DD who doesn't want to participate in a group SC (likes to attempt spamming solo-SCs (WAR/Upheaval/etc)), then I just don't know what to do at that point. I guess just, Jump or WS mindlessly. :/

Trish is really just a great all-arounder, but depending on the situation, isn't always the best choice. You pretty much can't go wrong with it, but if you're way over attack capped on something like Wave 3 Dyna boss a Ryu spamming Drakes with excellent gear will likely outdo the DMG from Trish. On the opposite end I find Rhongomiant shines more when not attack capped. White damage from it is a little lacking for an empyrean, but that's really just cause DRG has no tools like Last Resort or something similar natively to boost your ATK. DRG really shines from their WSDMG, due to this we actually get some very solid numbers from Impulse Drive with a Shining One. As a non REMA weapon you can put out comparable numbers with it.

And then lastly and sadly Naegling is great on DRG and can be used in a lot of situations. It's my go to for segment farming as slashing works for most mobs and can just switch to a polearm when needed for non-slashing mobs. The dmg output from the weapon is stupid and even /WAR for fencer you're still almost haste capped due to your Wyvern JA haste. If you're /NIN with a KC it gets even more ridiculous.

After that I guess Gungnir exists for some reason, cool lockstyle?

Don't forget about Spirit Link. That alone can get you halfway there.

So for something like Tizona, for example, would just be typical WS spam until AM is about to fall off and then build/hold 3k Tp til it does fall off? Obviously as you get used to your Tp build speed you’d know about how long it would take to build 3k. I’m assuming building and holding right before it falls off is less of a Dps loss than building without AM3?

basically yes, for every job even ones like drg that have a TP surge JA in their back pocket should get a feel for how long it can take them to get up to 3k for when AM drops, nowadays its not that huge of a loss either for most jobs as their TP generation is pretty high assuming you have a non-AM3 TP set as you likely would that's loaded with MA and such so hitting 3k shouldnt take much longer than 7~10s given the standard max haste/sam roll in the event you lose AM before getting your TP back up

I love my Trish, I really do, but I'm to the point now where my default option is actually Shining One. Impulse Drive is such a strong WS with Shining One, it ends up being best for most all of what I'm doing. Stardiver being able to Crit is actually not bad either. About the only time I break out Trishula anymore is if I'm multistepping stuff.

On parses against myself, Shining one parses about 6-7% more damage over time than my Trishula. Can of worms, but Naegling/KC parses about another 5% over Shining One when it comes down to it. I just don't have one, can only borrow from friends.
