Question on timers
ive seen screen shots where people had timers on top of their screen counting down till ability is ready was wondering how they did it or what program they used and if its legal to use on ffxi
It's called Windower, it's not "legal" but you can't be caught unless you broadcast that you use it in game and someone reports you. It's PC only.

Ya know.. I always thought that the program itself was allowed, but certain apps aren't (Apradar, the one where you walk through walls.. ect). I mean the res is better and some plugins are genious (distance, the casting one, party tp, ect)

The specific plugin is Recast, just fyi. Didn't see anyone say it.

I have always wondered how to exactly do that, i'm a windower nub, just use it for recasts and what not but I hate the stupid crap on all the screenshots, where exactly does this go in the init.exe? :3

I don't even have recast active because the box irritates me. Only turn it on when I really need it. That, and having only started using Windower a few months ago, I don't want to lose the natural skill I've developed not relying on plugins.

To be fair, SE did kind of give us a shitty system set up in ways, you don't really lose any skills using the plug-in I find, I ignore it half the time anyways, just use it for shadow timers for the most part, but I get your point, And blink-me-not, forgot about that one. lol

Specifically to recast, I don't need to have it on my screen to know when I can cast something. Having not used recast for three years, I've picked up the skill and judgement not to need it. Having it just makes my Red Magery perfect, as opposed to near-perfect.
And I disagree; if I was to constantly rely on recast plugin, I would slowly lose this judgement.
And yes, Blinkmenot is the ***.

Np~ Windower has a lot of nifty plugins, you should go look them up. ^^
I gots a few, my favorite is vanatunes, nothing like playing the song from the ToAU alexander battle (187) while sitting lfp :3

heh love that one, more or less there is no bad music in ffxi, just kinda shitty listening to the same thing all the time, its pretty cool to listen to the special christmas music in jeuno during other events lol. (239)

Absolutly nothing besides the annoying loud character selection music, really wish I could mute, or at least turn that down.
The only bad thing, Might be fixable I don't know is when you change zones / enter combat the song your playing stops lol
