New Master Leveling Spot
I like the idea of having new areas away from RMT
I believe this is Crawlers Nest(S) Should be fun! ![]() What makes you think that's "away from RMT"? They're in the deepest parts of Inner Court and Outer Ruins, Crawlers Nest is nothing. They'll make a few call groups out there just the same.
There is no away from RMT, only new areas for RMT to expand to.
(*)Sort of, I'm not entirely sure if they bot gears or not. They're not great for Jinpu. and magic aggro. If they made mobs that exclusively absorb wind damage, then you may have a bot proof spot. (only because it wouldn't be worth changing) Apex Puks - Don't those sound fun!? (they're coming, 100%, just not yet) Hopefully this means we get Apex Colibris in ronfaure as well.
from the interview it sounded like they'll be a lower level than the apex in the promyvions.
Link to video you took the screenshot from?
There's only one solution to RMT: Apex Bounty Hunters. Spawns randomly at no set interval. Roams entire zones at double flee speeds. Auto reraise. Can't be claimed, only aggros completely inactive PCs that haven't moved or acted for a predetermined amount of time while receiving exp/CP/EP. It will attach only the buyers. Buyers keep dying, can't Merc exp
That would make it annoying to XP for normal players, who half *** xp while watching a movie or have alts etc
How many normal players exp for hours and never move or act once?

I just want to chime in, I see new rmt/gold farmer/botters in Ruan getting new accounts up on mastery points with 1/2 mastered people carting them around, using scripts/bots again to get them CP. They all follow the lead. It's normally, as said, 1-2 mastered jobs leading 3-4 out at a time with tokko weapon, NQ ambu armor for job, and 1 trust if the last slots empty (Due to the 4th being boosted being out, or the other mastered character opting out) So while the idea might work, it's not 100% fool proof. It's easy for them to just have the afk bots do any action every X time. As for buying JP, that's something else all together - which who knows how to fix that. Like, I've had friends come mooch a few JP while I am out someplace, what happens then? They're not paying at all (I am hella against buying power/skipping the grind) but those friends are still AFK doing w/e. I was kind of joking and being tongue-in-cheek with the suggestion. But if we want to answer the question, "what happens to normal players affected by this"; See Gain EXP nerf. Collateral Damage. SE never cared about how that affected normal players (it impacted them more than RMT, actually), they just did it. They even warned that they didn't want to hurt normal players in the cat and mouse chase with RMT so they were being cautious in their approach. The answer? Nerf Gain EXP and hurt normal players in the process. Oops? lol
On a more serious note, RMT often advertise 10-hour parties for EP farms. It is unbelievably difficult for any normal person to be afk for even half that time and not perform even one action (unless a friend is overnight EXP and you are just leeching (this is a minority of players btw)), let alone ten hours. It would be very easy to see players who are involved in RMT and make it more challenging for them to do it, if SE wanted to go down that path. Not saying good bad right or wrong, just saying it could be done, and it could hurt real players, but it would hurt RMT as well (which is all SE really only cares about). (they're coming, 100%, just not yet) They will just use Goten, Kagero, Koki. When those elements get nerfed, they will switch to NIN and use Chi/To/Teki. Never-ending cycle. Kagero and Goten are barely half as strong. They could try, but it'll reduce their effectiveness a lot.
They also don't self skillchain. Jinpu is the perfect botting ws.
(maybe they do, I'm not sure without looking) Really no reason too, until they fix jinpu or make mobs that "can't" be killed with jinpu
Jinpu's ability to SC into perpetuity makes it beyond broken. But even if they downgraded to another SC it doesn't really matter if people just afk. You don't really care how long it takes to kill a mob if you're buying a spot and AFKing for hours. As long as you skipped the boring grind while you were afk. Just means you're on the hook longer, or they bring another DD to make up the difference. Nerfing Jinpu will do nothing though, like I said. they'll just use the next broken WS on repeat all over again. A repeat WS nerf might slow them down a bit. Or just make Apex Monsters that take 1/3 of SC damage. Or have weapon resistances like Sheol. Or all of the above. No matter what they do, it will hurt players in some way.
I really don't understand why Detonation ws can do it and no others can.
Why Jinpu and AE can do maximum links, why others can't at all, and why TK/Numbing can go only 3 times Not WHY it works, why they decided those specific ones stay in without altering their properties to stop it. It's just an odd decision to make 2 weaponskills with perfect properties to selfchain to max like that. Its just spaghetti code for skillchains, jinpu and aeolian lucked out.
Next Master lvl areas, Apex Abyssea

It's just an odd decision to make 2 weaponskills with perfect properties to selfchain to max like that. https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Category:Skillchain It's not just Detonation, those WS has 2 properties, Detonation and Scission. If you look at the level 1 skillchain table, * After a Detonation property is applied, if you use a WS with Scission property, then a Scission skillchain occurs. * Then under the Scission property, if you apply a WS with Detonation property, it will trigger a Detonation skillchain. Repetitively spamming the WS will cause the skillchain to bounce between Scission and Detonation continuously. Taking your example of Numbing Shot which has 3 properties (Induration / Detonation / Impaction), * The first WS will attach the Induration property. * The second WS will trigger the Impaction skillchain (since Induration can't chain with Detonation). * The third WS will cause the Impaction to chain with Detonation and create a Detonation skillchain. (Induration doesn't chain in Impaction) * Then the next WS will break because Detonation cannot chain with Induration and Impaction. You need a Scission property WS to continue Level 1 chain or use Compression to chain it to Gravitation (Level 2). I thought that saying
Quote: Not WHY it works, why they decided those specific ones stay in without altering their properties to stop it. Was going to work, silly me It has Liquefaction/Scission/Impaction. Liquefaction and Scission can chain with each other. Nevermind, the Impaction will promote the Liquefaction to Fusion and break the chain. Fell Cleave/Bora Axe/Dancing Edge should also chain continuously since they have Scission and Detonation properties. I can see why jinpu, the first WS available to a class that is all about skillchains, would be made to skillchain easily and potentially indefinitely, even if it has become kind of broken now.
About people completely AFKing during CP I would be fine with any fix to RMT that stopped "legitimate" players from doing it too, this game is becoming too much of a zombie land in that respect, where you never know if people logged in are actually really there, and that time someone leeches CP is time they could have practiced playing their job and had conversations and actually played that part of the game.. Enpi is the first SAM WS, not Jinpu. Jinpu wasn't until about level 50 when leveling SAM as a first job.
