No, he is serious. First time in a long time its hit home. About 10 of the 20 accounts that me and friends play were 72 hr banned last night. We discovered this morning. We are not innocent but we also are not RMT. Completely random amongst the lot. No method to there madness.

There is a method. They ban for clipping/excessive active time, and possibly a handful of other things easy to detect. From there they likely only ban a small subset of flagged accounts as to not butcher their subscription revenue, but still create enough of a risk that non-RMT players will get scared straight (regardless of how the actual methodology works, it's clear its not 0% nor 100%)
It should be old news at this point and I don't know why there's a thread every time - "people getting banned for things that could obviously get you banned" Offline

The STF always keep monthly records of their captures. Every month some amount of people have been caught but most likely most of them arent FFXIAH usual posters so it seems like they arent baning anyone. Also, its quite likely some chars from the craft exploit to be handled at some point as i read not all of them were arrested at that time. Masunasu said: » There is a method. Or maybe its not that hard to guess. Asura.Chanter

Like i said, It happened. Im not saying we didnt deserve it. I was just confirming what the poster said. At least in my group, it had nothing to do with the crafting stuffs. Like i was telling my friends, if they are temp bans and not perma, at least you know where you stand with SE and just keep the playing moving forward clean.
Well considering now we dont have the dozens of oiwciuwebcu bots in ceizak/yahse/cirdas, now it should be easier for the STF to target the less obvious boters/cheaters.
Pantafernando said: » now we dont have the dozens of oiwciuwebcu bots in ceizak/yahse/cirdas Well discussed a lot about how RMT would circunvent the spark/accolade limit by using dozens of accounts or create/destroy but the reality is that, at least on my server, Ceizak and Yahse are finally free.
why every time a ban topic comes up, people keep it close to the chest what they were doing?
no one gives you credence when you do this. yay for you getting attention were you clipping? were you botting 24/7? were you exploiting? if you aren't going to tell, no one cares. stop making these threads. ok that's different.
"banwave just went out" vs "i got banned at the normal time and didnt notice it till 10 hours later" Not the brightest thing in the world to be botting the thing they just finally took notice of and nerfed a week ago. (unless you don't care about throwaways getting popped) Asura.Vanixim

The weird thing is I made a fresh account last week and it got popped. Hadn't done anything on that so maybe they got everything on my IP. Just a reality check for me. Stay safe out there. Time to finish the Witcher 3. Thanks for sharing, never hurts to share info. Trying to put rhyme or reason behind SE's decisions is impossible, so no point behind trying to understand how they come to these determinations. Better to try and understand what is permissible and what isn't per their standards. With that said, I think people need to use discretion in terms of what 3rd party tools they are using. I think it is safe to say that SE will NOT ban you for using LUAs. However, it would be wise to err on the side of caution that anything beyond LUAs/gearswap is fair game (and if you have absolutely poor luck, then maybe even LUAs). Happy hunting. :) I never get when you guys says "dont use LUA".
Im safe if i use C++ instead? Offline
