The right pronunciation for Selbina is SEH-RUH-BEE-NA
(lol)

Interestingly enough, the "right" name for Mhaura was actually meant to be Mhaula.
It got errouneosly transliterated to english from japanese as "Mhaura" and it stayed like that.
In japanese they have a single phonem for both the sounds of "r" and "l" (well it's a bit more complicated but I'm simplifying things), which means that it can be sometimes difficult or ambiguous to know which letter to pick when transliterating to a western language.
The JP team already did that with "Mhaula" with an l, but the team of translators appearently didn't get told that and so we now have the official transliteration of "Mhaura" :-D


Also the majority of elvaan related words, while tipically completely made up, are a reference to french.

Haha yea... my wife says I like to add sounds onto the end of words that aren't there when it's a word I'm not certain of. Even she found the vid pretty funny. :)

Im just messing with him. I rage a little every time I watch his NIN videos and he says certain ninjutsu spells. In a lighthearted way.

My brain just broke. I've been pronouncing Aegis the way Joco did, but I've been wrong for years, decades even. My first RMEA and I didn't even know how to say it correctly. /shame

You're not alone. I pronounced it "A-gis" ever since Final Fantasy 1 for the NES. It wasn't until I heard someone pronounce the pokemon "Aegislash" and I thought "wtf?..." and actually looked it up.

The way I said it in the video is the same was I’ve been pronouncing Aegis since FFIV and FFVI days on SNES! 29 years of saying it the wrong way, so I doubt I’ll change it now. Lol
