Mnk, brd, cor, war, geo, whm???

Nah, WHM, RDM, PLD, BRD, COR SAM - the comment on geo and not needing PLD are completely valid and probably explains our speed -we figured this set up covered a lot of bases and just went for it (excitement - death - adventure) Decided to mess around with some friends and try to trio VD (which was messy buy we won) but moved down to D because VD took too long. During our last run we were alternating between the boss and the adds to proc invincible to save time. Somehow I bashed just after 75% and the SAM SC'd it close to 50% and we ended up skipping 1 invicible (only 2 in D). Anyways they decided to just finish him off after we killed the Warlock just to see if anything happened. I didn't see it on the wiki page but the remaining orcs got a HUGE -DT boost. 6 minutes for the full run became 13-14 with over half of that just trying to kill the Pugilist and Duelist.
Instead of our usual setup (Tank, BRD, COR, WHM, 2x DD) we tried one run with a slightly different setup
PLD, COR, GEO, 3x BLU. We fought in the middle, PLD was tanking and healing, BRD did nothing (lol) with HM, Minux2, Dirge, GEO was doing Frailty/Fury entrusted Acumen iir, the BLUs were trying to melee the boss from behind doing physical WSs and Entomb when needed. We still won but it was very messy and I have two questions 1) Despite the PLD's attempts to tank, the boss's hate was all over, mostly on me (BLU) and basically it was a pain to remove aura with physical WS from behind simply because the other 2 BLU were panicking and I could never get behind the boss. This went on for basically the whole run. Was there something disrupting the normal hate mechanics? Yes I'm aware with Aura up the boss has a Hate reset move but it seems like something else was at play there. 2) The other Orcs eventually died due from occasional AoE from Entomb. This despite the fact we didn't have proper Acumen/Malaise and we didn't even spam AoE spells. This got me thinking... any reason why we can't go there and simply spam AoE until everything is dead (which should be fast) while engaged to the boss doing occasional physical WS from behind to reset aura? Hate reset is every veil, so every 15 seconds full reset
Nothing stopping you from doing that, no. Just inefficiency. Asura.Eiryl said: » Hate reset is every veil, so every 15 seconds full reset Quote: Nothing stopping you from doing that, no. Just inefficiency. With proper GEO bubbles the orcs should die in a few rounds of AoE spells, after which you can swap bubbles and focus on boss. If it weren't for the hectic hate issues I mentioned, it would've been much faster than the typical melee setup, and without having to worry about Dispels and Silence to avoid Death and Dread Spikes. Sounds much quicker and faster to explain to random pugs, instead of giving strict instructions to follow about silencing, kill order, having the BRD sleepga and blah blah. The AoE BLU way is how my buddy and I would duo BLU it. Well, he has a pocket GEO, but other than getting bubbles up, just spam Entomb til it's dead.
Jugner [S] for quick KI Repeat. If anyone wanted to tag along, bring a buffer like COR or BRD for Ballads/Marches or Casters/MAB Fenrir.Richybear said: » The AoE BLU way is how my buddy and I would duo BLU it. Literally gave you the blueprint five years ago (2 pages back) and you're asking if there's any reason you can't do in 2025 what was done half a decade ago. Lol >.>
Lakshmi.Buukki said: » Just did a 3 BLU strat that involves spamming Entomb in max MAB set and dumping tp (Naegling or Tizona main, Maxentius offhand) on boss. Adds are petrified the entire fight, PLD main heals the group, and RDM/GEO are there for support, though, you can drop the RDM and probably a BLU and do it 4-man. Took about 7 minutes without deaths. Bahamut.Bojack said: » Anyone know if this one is unchanged again? Not home to try it but curious if the 2023 strats/comments are still accurate. RDM dispel, silence, but also has Bind and Grav if things get messy for any reason WHM (also did it without with a GEO once, SCH could probably work) BRD HM/Madrigal/Minuet4+5, sleeps adds COR SAM/DRK rolls DD (SAM or WAR are best as ever) Kill BLM>RDM>DRK>BST>pet>boss. Someone gets charmed every now and then. Ambu V1 VD: Run, Brd, Rdm, DD, DD, Cor
**Logistics**: -Run runs in, does Foil to get hate. -Brd sleeps adds. -Rdm silences BLM and Drk and does enfeebling on both. -Rdm is ‘healer’ but can help DPS if needed. **Positioning/strat**: -Run tanks boss. - 1 DD is assigned to WS behind boss to remove aura. —> The aura can only be removed by WS aura from back. Aura appears every 20-30 seconds. Boss does invincible at 75, 50, 25% HP. This can be prevented with stun such as by Leg Sweep. Boss CAN aura during invincible. Magic WS will not remove aura. - DD, Brd, Cor roam and kill ads one at a time. —> kill order: BLM, Drk, rest, boss. 5 min wins on VD **KI** - Recall Jugnar S OR survival guide Jugnar S Asura.Sechs said: » So you go that way, facing opposite directions so that you each take "turns" in resetting the aura according to who the boss is facing.
