Its the only way I do it. I'm not gonna fight a long hard battle knowing I have a crap chance at a drop, no thanks

You can win without it, but the longer it takes to kill her the greater the chance you'll get unlucky with back to bask slashes and need to use Mulsums.
It's probably faster to just grind VE while waiting for your OD timer.
Or just gear mnk and spam E... most pups i know do it like that

what frames are you using?
What is your specific setup, maybe we can help your platform out a bit on expending from there first.
i had 100% with the attachments on valorx2, i changed to varlor/sharpshot and had a bunch of problems with the self skillchain darkness(probably because of trusts)
