I have been watching Claymore in my spare time, I'm only on Episode 6 though, love it ^^
I heard mixed results from that, one friend really loves it, while another thought it was terrible. lol I guess it's 2 against 1 now! I like the art style, at the very least.

I'd heard the same previously, how they'll repeat episodes from different perspectives.

DtB's 2nd season's actually pretty good (at least imo).
Only thing I have to say is the excessive "rori mahou shoujo-ish transformation" sequence we get here and then >.>
Of course, this isn't out of the norm in anime's. I just find it... awkward when watching it with friends/family lol.

As for Railgun, it's a prequel/sequel (I'm sure it's a prequel, but I think it could end up as a sequel, meh) of Toaru Majutsu no Index (nice show too, give it a shot if you're into the kids with superpowers type genre). Lot's yuri action though (YES!)

For latest trend in the anime world, try this. If you look at the seeders/ul it's usually the most popular show of the season (even if you hate it).
Thanks for the break-down. The little-girl-yuri makes me feel a little awkward with Railgun. haha I think I'll give DtB a shot, though, so thanks for that too. Link's very helpful, I'd been looking for a new source for The Sacred Blacksmith for a bit.

Oh didn't realize they finally did the index spinoff thingy. Idk I like baka updates better really or even scarywater. At least for the stuff that I'm not getting from specific fansubbers I like
I use those two sites too, its just that when I usually tend to stick to animesuki for their seeding/leeching colorful data (I don't usually sit there and scan the list for the shows unless I'm really bored).
So before leaving for class, I'll just look for the biggest green mess there to save time :)

OH! For those who're into the Power Rangers/Kamen Riders, here's a good one (a parody lol): Tentai Senshi Sunred.
It's hilarious, and 2nd season started already.

It's an OK show, unfortunately, it's not complete (the manga is still ongoing, and no one's sure about when the anime will pick up again). So unless you like cliffhangers, it's OKay-ish. Not the best of the best, but it's worth watching.

/cry, I'd do anything to watch some yuri action... all I get to see here at home is yaoi actions /barf

Hint: my sisters are suddenly into vampires and occults... not the vampires we used to remember them as ; ;
I blame Stephenie Meyer for all what happened here ; ;

I love souleater but I hate trying to find it especially from as few as subbers as possible. And all the later ones seem to do it in .mkv and it theres wont play right on my comp frequently freezing the subtitles or sometimes the playback or just skipping them and never going back over them

The name Honey & Clover reminds me to ask if anyone's watched Spice & Wolf? lol Just another recommendation I've gotten.

Also, for whatever reason the mention of Scarywater reminded me XDCC bots. Would anyone want or need an introduction/guide to using XDCC file transfer over IRC in order to skip torrents? It only applies to the fansub groups that use bots, but it allows direct file transfer one-way so there's no seeding or leeching. It's also limited to what bots are available and has a finite limit so sometimes you may be waiting in a queue. Speed is usually just as good or better than torrents, so I generally avoid torrenting fansubs at all costs if I can.

lolol, I remember when I found out "yaoi" was not some little anime-land joke, but an actual obsessive fangirl following, I was so shocked/frightened.

My favorite animes are usually the depressing/ serious ones. Kanon, Clannad, and Air are good. Another one thats not very well known is Haibane Renmei (i think thats the name, its been a while). I loved that one, and it's nice that these are all relatively short, not like Bleach or InuYasha with hundreds of episodes.

Bamboo Blade, Ghost Hunt, Romeo x Juliet are some current decent ones. Spice and Wolf is awesome. Hell Girl season 1 and 2 are good too.

The only thing of the last two posts I've heard of is Clannad! Haven't seen that either. lol Nice to have all these recommendations flowing in, I suddenly have the problem of having to pick which to watch first. lol Thanks, ya'll. Nice to see this thread booming again, too, feel free to keep it up or discuss whatever! Definitely not enough anime chatter 'round these parts.

Anything done by Katsuhiro Otomo is good. Akira, Steamboy, lots of others.

I like the series PLANETES. It has a space theme but is not extremely futuristic.

I guess the newest thing I've seen is Speed Grapher. It had a very jubei versus the eight devils of kimon feel to it. Very unique.

I didn't see anyone outright mention Evangelion. I guess it just goes without saying. I recently snagged the first of the 3 movies from the reboot. It is a nice presentation, but I kind of miss the weird nuances and long silences from the series. Even the manga is just a condensed version of the series with insignificant alterations.

People were right to mention FMA. It translates beautifully into anime. Unfortunately I haven't been keeping up with Brotherhood the way I should, but I know it will be good.

One last thing. Berserk. The anime itself is low quality, but it's pretty much only a starter for the manga. It takes you through the Golden Age arc only which is one of the best stories I've ever experienced. Make no mistake you will need to visit the manga after the anime's non-ending, but this was how I first got involved in manga and I haven't enjoyed any manga as much as this. (It should be noted I haven't jumped onto the Bleach bandwagon yet, but I intend to start very soon.)

lol, that's what reminded me to look for these, found a new source for it unfortunately. Currently checking out SFsubs, can't tell if they're worthwhile yet. Do a really annoying gradient coloring on their subtitles which looks like it'll get old pretty faaast.

Yeah that's what I hate sometimes. You find good subbers but they are behind then you find someone who is more up to date but they translate bad or do the subtitles themselves all icky or encode it weird so it doesn't play well. Gotta chose between quality and time makes me /sigh

Im sure some of these will be repeats but theres just so many too choose from.

Like the ones I'm watching right now are Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, The Sacred Blacksmith, The Book of Bantorra, Fairy Tail.

The ones that I dont mind watching again would have to be Greater Teacher Onizuka (GTO), FLCL, Gurren Lagenn, Karas, Berserk, Hajime no Ippo (Seasons 1 and 2), Major, Macross Frontier, Elfen Lied, Fist of the North Star, Samurai Champloo, Seven Samurai...

I'm sure theres more but those were the only ones that I could think of as of right now.

My go to website would have to be - http://tokyotosho.info/
They have everything... well just about everything I would say... anime, live action dramas, music, manga, and other stuff that I wont get into.... >_>

@Outlawstar: Have you found a replacement fansub for Sacred Blacksmith that you like? Was using gg but they're on hiatus. Dx Watched the first episode of Book of Bantorra, but it didn't really grab me or make much of an impression. May reconsiderrr.
