What's the point of remaking a "main", though? How come that nowadays people don't have the culture of keeping your *** original account safe?
When I heard about the exploit, my first reaction was to check how much it was to buy a character with dyna D access. It sounds next level HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE to me to just sacrifice your main for literally no reason.
If I lost my main to some exploit, I'd just move to something else. I'd also insult myself for being this HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE.

Because it takes about two or three months, if that, to get a char back up to "main" status in this game now. Shits too easy, the only thing that's even remotely annoying is idris/epeo and RoV, and they don't really care if you bot.
I guess you gave me the answer, most people are just going full zoomer with no "main" culture. I find this pretty surprising on a game like FFXI.
It's a natural consequence of the rise of using multiple alts to do content in my opinion, your "main" feels a lot less special to you when you have 5 equally geared accounts that you've spent time working on.
I could build my mule to have better gear than my main, it'd still look like a mule. And to me, it's still character #2, even if I took a lot of pleasure and, to an extent, care into building it more efficiently than my trial and error main.
But I get what you mean, I just only feel that for my 4th character.
