What would be the best way for a solo player to obtain heavy metal plates besides the obvious way of just buying them. Is there a easier NM to kill?

Sorry put this in wrong place thought it was general.
Ambuscade. Other than that, the Voidwatch campaign (it is on now, Monday, February 11, at 12:00 a.m. (PST) to Thursday, February 28, at 6:59 a.m.) is great for just spamming any of the NMs in Sky that drop them using the displacers.

I have often wondered if anyone ever ran numbers on plates/hour when comparing a mob that drops plate pouches vs. individual plates. For those who are drowning in Voidstones of course.

Well i used to just do dynamis and sell everything so wouldn’t be a issue in just buying the plates but it seems the currency is so cheap now not really worth it and I would like to use my money I have for mythic weapon so I guess I will spam nms

For those who are drowning in Voidstones of course. It was done, a long time ago, but Pil/Kaggen/Akvan gave more on average. Something like 40% of the time you get 1 plate, vs 3% of the time pouch @ Qilin/Uptala/Harpiebitch Use a phase displacer and farm pouches. It's hit or miss though. One day you may get 99hmp's, another day you might get 3.

Morta spam always seems like the best to me.
I avoid voidwatch event like the plague. Trade cobalt and plates/cinders/dross flow like water. Ruby only needs to be 150 for them which you get from abyssite. Lakshmi.Buukki

Nevermind found it.

I've always enjoyed Morta/Bismarck better than pouches, just my speed. Its likely just been my experience, but I have found over time that Bismarck is better for Riftdross, Morta for Riftcinder.
Both can drop either, just in different ratios. Lakshmi.Buukki said: » I counted my stones and I used 350 on aello, and got 23 pouches total. After popping them, I came out with a little over 235~ hmp this week. A link member pointed out that my average was right on the money for what it was cited as. Frustrated that i was burning through stones and didn't see me hitting my goal this campaign (I have 650 left, so I won't make it), a friend mentioned that Bismarck was light-years better than aello, so I tried it. After about 100 stones (again I counted, started with around 1100) and 1.5 hours of farming, I walked away with 7 Sealord skins, an angel skin, 2 riftcinders (which I need anyways), 6 riftdross, 8 hmp singles, and a few other pricy sellables, it became almost immediately clear that farming pouches is a sure waste of stones. I'll never farm pouches again. You bank too much on that one pouch drop, but morta and bis give you more bites at the apple per stone. I wouldn't recommend anyone doing pouches if you're low on stones like me. (of course this is all dependant on the price of skins, which for me were 1m each) Everyone already should know that Bismarck (and sorta morta) are WAY better than anything else. But not HMP, specifically. And there are only 3 pops for bismarck... so some people need to remain ignorant and keep doing pouch pops.... Offline

Yeah pretty sure thats confirmed via FFXIDB, which is why I do Morta, 60 Cinders is almost always worth more than 60 dross. So even if you need dross you just farm cinders, sell them, buy dross. 610k vs 400k on Asura right now. And they drop way more frequently than sap or skin.

Sealord skin 878 out of 10359 8.5% Clump of riftdross 471 out of 10359 4.5% Vial of belladonna sap 2633 out of 31473 8.4% Pinch of riftcinder 1221 out of 31473 3.9% Offline

I feel like saps are so rare. Maybe they require more ruby?? After campaign I’ll do another 1000 and report back. Offline

So it’s pointless unless you are after the rare weapons outside of campaign. I prefer SAM and just 5 step Morta down. (No displaces needed for hq DDs) Offline

Been answered but voidwatch is best outside monthly ambuscade.
Save stones and get KI for reduce receiving timer and wait for campaign. Can learn salvage lv99 and do that each hour and sell a 99 stack of Alex and just buy hmp after, it's like 10 hmp a hour for 15-20min of running through a salvage. |
