Michael Cohen is looking at thirty years for felony bank fraud. Thirty years in a federal prison. Felony charges. Means his gun rights and right to vote, if he survives the sentence if convicted, will be going bye-bye.
He is a New Yorker facing charges in New York. He can get his right to vote back if convicted, time served, and off parole.

Aren't all drugs a black market if they're illegal?
There are black markets in many legal things too.

Money is commonly sold on black markets as are prescription drugs. In many countries there was a black market in photographic film. In China there is a black market in iPhones. In Venezuela there is a black market in food, but you have to pay with American dollars which are only available on... you guessed it! The black market. (I have no idea what they can buy dollars with but it sure as **** ain't bolivars.)

So, the goal is to make the raid seem as petty and pointless as possible? Do they even know what they're investigating anymore?

What's their next move, raiding NBC offices for hilarious outtakes from "The Apprentice"?

It was a fishing expedition, nothing seized will be admissible in court and we can expect anything found to be "leaked" to WaPo who will then leak it to CNN, MSNBC, BCC and so forth. They went in looking for any records of financial transactions he might of had not connected to Trump, and just happened to grab everything that might be protected communication with Trump. Now they can't use any documents found as they are protected by the 4th, 5th and 6th amendments but they can sure be leaked, especially if they are partially leaked with context removed. Normally you would just have a subpoena telling the lawyer office to hand over any documentation within the realm of the subpoena, "we want all financial transactions for X" and so forth. They used this tactic because they want to have one of their people search through President Trumps communication hoping to find something to put on the nightly news. This pretty much gave President Trump carte blanch to remove Mueller and probably a few others, he's fired people for less. He won't do it immediately yet this provides plenty of cover for when the Democrats start screeching.

Lol fun times, what a week right? FBI raids Cohens office legally and now he is looking at an indictment, Ryan is running away from the blue wave, leaving behind a trillion dollar deficit as his legacy, and Trump is threatening nice smart missiles that are way too late to change the outcome of Assad winning. Its only Wednesday.

And the only reason you don’t care is trump... you were saying Hillary should go to prison for this and now with trump it doesn’t seem to be an issue... that or whatever other excuse someone has come up with...

This one isn’t you but I always love the it’s only detestable if you cheat on your wife while you’re the president... if you’re not the president at the time then it’s ok... defending their hatred of bill while justifying their support for trump...

Everyone’s been so hypocritical at one point or another it’s become pretty hard to call anyone out for anything lol...

Umm, yeah, no. I never said that Hillary should to go to prison for contributions to the foundation specifically. That's not to say that the Clinton Foundation wasn't involved in shady/illegal stuff, however....
I guess I get all mixed up with who chants the whole lock her up ***and/or why each person wanted her locked up lol... so if the Clinton foundation is involved in shady/illegal stuff what do you think should happen to the clintons?

I only ask for the impossible, a.k.a. a fair and thorough investigation.
Why is it impossible?

If you're now staking your hopes of a Trump impeachment on emoluments clause violations, you're looking at an even bigger pipe dream than Russian collusion. The clause is vague, extremely difficult to prosecute, and most cases get tossed out by judges before they see the light of day.
So you don’t have a problem with stuff like this?

Rav seems to forget that for over thirty years, ever since her involvement with Watergate and Nixon's political demise, the Repubs have been trying, unsuccessfully, to pin anything they could on Hillary to send her to prison and yet they've always failed to find something. Even with the dead horse of Benghazi and the whole thing with her emails, she's still as free as a bird. Meanwhile, look at the Trump administration falling apart on a daily basis. Cohen, himself, is assuredly facing a thirty year sentence on felony charges for bank fraud and campaign finance violations, and the guy that started the whole raid is Mueller, who not only sent John Gotti to prison, but also sent most of the Enron execs to prison as well. He knows how financial criminals like the Trumps operate. That's why he's running down any and all leads and, if it's something he shouldn't be focusing on, he hands it off to another team as we've seen with the Cohen raid.

What the *** are you talking about Donny...

Why is it impossible?

Because it would require unbiased and ethical federal investigators who are allowed to do their jobs freely. Hence, impossible.

We have had literally dozens of investigations into the Clintons, but yes, none have been unbiased.

I think Mueller might be available in a year or so. He is about as unbiased and ethical as you will ever find. No mater what Trump tweets.

Facebook Data Collected by Quiz App* Included Private Messages
New York Times, paywall

*That's Cambridge Analytica
Quote:
SAN FRANCISCO — Facebook has said that political data firm Cambridge Analytica improperly harvested the public profile data of up to 87 million of its users, including their political beliefs, interests and friends’ information.

Now the social network has revealed that the extent of the harvesting went even further — it included people’s private messages, too.

On Monday, Facebook began informing people whose data may have been compromised by Cambridge Analytica through an app developed by the researcher Aleksandr Kogan. In its notifications, Facebook said that while the information harvested was largely limited to what was on people’s public profiles, “a small number of people” also shared information from their Facebook timeline, posts and messages.

Facebook did not specify how many people’s messages were gathered and said it was taking as broad a view as possible when notifying people that their data may have been taken.

The revelation widens the scope of data that was harvested from people on Facebook and how it went beyond what was publicly available. The development may provide grist to lawmakers on a day when Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s chief executive, is set to be grilled on Capitol Hill over data privacy and other matters, such as Russian misuse of the social network to influence the 2016 election.

How Mr. Zuckerberg publicly addresses these problems in congressional hearings on Tuesday and Wednesday will be closely scrutinized. Facebook faces possible regulation and other changes amid a backlash over the lack of data privacy.

The Cambridge Analytica outcry was triggered after The New York Times and others reported last month that a quiz app made by Mr. Kogan had collected information on Facebook users. That information was then used by Cambridge Analytica to build psychological profiles of voters in the United States and others.

It is not clear whether the direct messages were among the data eventually provided to Cambridge Analytica. In an interview on Tuesday, Mr. Kogan told The Times that the private messages were harvested from a limited number of people, likely “a couple thousand,” as part of a separate academic research project and never provided to Cambridge Analytica.

He said the messages were collected as part of research that he conducted at Cambridge University in 2013 and the first half of 2014, before he began working with Cambridge Analytica. The messages were collected for research into how people use emojis to convey emotions.

Mr. Kogan said the messages were kept securely in his university lab, known as the Cambridge Prosociality and Well-Being Lab, and access was restricted to a small group of people.

The message data “was obviously sensitive so we tried to be careful about who could access it,” Mr. Kogan said. He stressed that his Facebook app collected messages only from a “couple thousand” people who completed his questionnaire, not from their friends.

During Mr. Kogan’s later work for Cambridge Analytica, his Facebook app took data from people who took his questionnaire and from all their friends. But the data did not include private messages — it included only names, birth dates, locations and pages the users had liked, he said.

Hillary was a prosecutor working on the Watergate case, which is where the hatred Republicans have for her stems from. They've been trying, with absolutely no success at all, to send her to prison for over thirty years for just about anything they can conjure up.

John Gotti's criminal empire, and Enron, both got dismantled by Mueller personally. Gotti was sent to prison by Mueller while Mueller was the AG for state of New York. He later took the bunch of business criminals from Enron down while, again, as a state AG for New York in the early 2000s. On top of that, he served as FBI director under two presidents, and had an extensive military career in the Marine Corps. during Vietnam.

I don't care about any of that ***but thanks for summarizing history.
