Can Scripts be made using the Playonline windower or do I need to get a 3rd party windower?
I ask because none of the script guides I've found are for Playonline windower.
Thanks

Gear Scripts With SE Windower?
Can Scripts be made using the Playonline windower or do I need to get a 3rd party windower?
I ask because none of the script guides I've found are for Playonline windower. Thanks Gotta be 3rd party.
If you're on ffxiah.com and on pc you really should be using windower. Need unofficial windower. Squenix wouldn't allow scripts to be used on their own windower, and if they did, they would have made the macro system a lot better in-game.
Once you use it you will never look back.
/gasp! Windower is cheating!!!
Sorry, had to say it. XD Really though... Using scripts to switch in 12 pieces of gear is 'technically' against the rules... But... It's efficient and requires one macro press instead of 2-3. I can hardly see someone getting in trouble for doing it. lol Excesspain said: Once you use it you will never look back. Excesspain said: Once you use it you will never look back. Santa will not bring your Moogle any presents, and your chocobo will be sold to the glue factory.
I'm taking down all of your names for the record. O.o I don't use Windower... Nooo... Never... Breaking the rules is bad!

I don't use it anymore. I just don't need it to be able to play efficiently as a melee. If I were a mage I might but as DD I don't need it.
of course spellcast > script ^^

The exact same as you'd write standard FFXI macros.
But you just add "input " to the start of everything. input /equip Head "Walahra Turban" would be the same as /equip Head "Walahra Turban" Instead of "/wait x", you simply use "wait x" Hitetsu said: The exact same as you'd write standard FFXI macros. Easiest way to understand is to look at the item sets here, and copy and paste all of this part:
input /equip hands "Homam Manopolas"; input /equip back "Cuchulain's Mantle"; input /equip waist "Swift Belt"; input /equip main "Beast Slayer"; input /equip sub "Perdu Hanger"; input /equip ranged "Jr.Msk.Chakram +1"; input /equip head "Walahra Turban"; input /equip neck "Fortitude Torque"; input /equip ear1 "Suppanomimi"; input /equip ear2 "Brutal Earring"; input /equip body "Mirage Jubbah"; input /equip ring1 "Flame Ring"; input /equip ring2 "Rajas Ring"; input /equip legs "Homam Cosciales"; input /equip feet "Homam Gambieras"; Excluding the weapons and /ra and stick it all in a text file. What you call it is up to you, but since what I just posted is my tp build, I'd call it tp.txt. Then in your regular FFXI macro, everywhere you want to swap into that gear you type /con exec tp.txt You can also put in wait commands into a windower macro ("wait 3" rather than "input /wait 3") and they can be as long as you want. Personally I just use them for gear swaps alone though, (and the occasional enhancing/curing magic skill-up botting) so that's not overly relevant. I also have a couple of gear swaps that I don't put inside a macro in FFXI at all, since I don't use them often, and just type "/con exec file.txt" when I need it, and in those instances you can actually delete the file extension, but you'll have to tell your computer that you want to open it in notepad any time you want to edit it. I really can't think of anything else you need to know, it's pretty simple really. The thing I guess i'm more confused about, is where do I put the .txt files once I make them? I do the /con exec ***.txt and nothing happens.
In your windower folder wherever you installed it (I did it to desktop <_<) there's a folder called scripts, put it in there.
oh dur -_-.
Ok one last question (I know i'm annoying) say I have different job scrips that I decide to put in subfolders in scrips (like scrips/sam; scrips/blm etc) would I still call the txt file the same way? /con exec sam/tp.txt
They MAY have changed that though, so if that doesn't work, it's /con exec sam//tp.txt (I'm still using an older version) Yeah. That's how mine are organised.
When calling your file, you'd use: /con exec blm/nuking.txt /con exec sam/tpgear.txt Windower will automatically check the scripts directory for whatever you just specified EDIT: bleh, Blazza beat me to it XD Also, instead of /con you can just do // for short.
ie. //exec job/script.txt Plus there's usually a text file in /scripts or the windower root dir with the basic commands and such for windower console and scripts. If you're interested, I just remembered I wrote a decent macro guide awhile ago. I did a quick re-read and it should still work for all intents and purposes. :3 http://hokutenknights.com/page.php?id=18 |
