http://www.playonline.com/pcd/topics/ff11us/detail/22566/detail.html Get your logins ready. *Just* outside the free play period. I missed the original run during April Fools, is there any other rewards that are particularly noteworthy about Shami's Trove or is it mainly just an alternative (fun?) new method to casually farm some exemplar through Lungo's Thesis?
It has the typical .00000001% 10k piece, 30k alex, 1500 plate, 10k bayld stuff

The main appeal was the 4000 and 6000 Exemplar Points, you could spam it over and over. Quote: The next version update is scheduled for early June. June brings with it the renewed version of Limbus, which is ready to provide you with all-new challenges! This first installment features battle content that allows multiple players to participate at once. First Installment?! ...Nani?!?! They already mentioned in the past that the Limbus update would've come in steps.
Kinda like Omen or Sortie. How many steps there will be and how many months apart... nobody knows of course. I like this niche of serverwide content like reives, what I think is what they refer with “multiple players” at once (what is a bad wording, given majority of contents are party-able, thus multiple players).
It is that challenging-inclusive-rewarding type of content, every good thing a MMORPG content should strive for. I dont know how revamped Besieged is doing as I didnt try this content, but considering Im not seeing it in any topic exclusive, i would guess it is unappealing? IMO, SE need to maintain mainstream at least one type of server wide content at any age Why are they showing a mithra locked in an assault dungeon in the update teaser.
That's what I was wondering? Maybe they're throwing in some random updates to ease specific assaults as well? I think that's the assault where you have to force the mobs to break the door and find the prisoner inside. I wouldn't mind if they made mining that Orichalcum ore easier
Probably a capture-the-flag (capture-the-Mithra?) style event..
Maybe? Oh that is Kahah Hobichai, it's for Besieged when they capture them and you have to save them.

In the recent producer interview, he mentioned adding more rewards that can be purchased with the new Besieged currency. He said that the content will become tough, and no one would want to do it if there aren't any useful rewards. Who knows what they'll be, but it's something I'm keeping my eye out for. They did mention strengthening the monsters around the cells, so you have to gather friends to rescue the prisoners of besieged.

The lag was so insane I've never seen anything like that in this game. Closest probably is the first weeks (days?) of bugged Odyssey Sheol Gaol. I digressed though. Wether Besieged is good or not, it faces another big problem: availability. Want an example? The first besieged update was in the november 2024 patch. That's over 6 months ago. I play basically almost every day and to date I still have not been able to find a Besieged "happening" while I'm online. Now clearly my example is an extreme case of bad luck and coincidences and I won't deny that. At the same time though, everybody can understand the implications of putting so much development effort on a content that's really not that simple to take part in even if you want to. Can they solve it? It's no easy task. After all if it was, they would've solved it already. With a content thought like something that happens at random variable times to please both the lore and the different world audiences playing in different timezones on each server, can you solve this issue? I don't know. They should make it so it happens at regular times, and then make other "random" besieged events to happen in between every now and then, following the old variables. Could that work? I dunno, maybe. Practical example. Week1: 8PM EST on Monday, 2PM Thursday, 8AM Sunday Week2: 2AM EST on Wed, 8PM on Sat Week3: 2PM EST on Tues, 8AM on Fri Week4: 2AM EST on Monday, 8PM Thursday, 2AM Sunday Week5: 8PM EST on Wed, 2PM on Sat Week6: 8AM EST on Tues, 2AM on Fri Week7: cycle starts again This way there could be a rotation but also a predictable schedule. You could check with an in-game NPC the upcoming next one, and they could make a regular calendar on their website too. In addition to these "scheduled" Besieged runs, you could have occasional other ones happening at random times following the old method. I think the biggest problem with having besieged at a higher rate is the risk of losing the Astral Con… however it’s spelt. They likely had the long delay between attacks not to stress servers from constantly losing it.
It would be a pretty easy fix. Instead of one loss and it goes away, make it a gauge where it takes 3-5 losses to break down barricades before they can take it. Possibly add some quests in to repair it? Or just allow a win to repair it? I did try one recently. I was surprised when 100+ people showed up when the shiva server maybe has 400-600 active people. Didn’t think to check at that time. Couldn’t get past doors so the mobs, couldn’t see mobs spawn in, didn’t see other people spawning in. Felt just like DI dragons. Maybe they could do a sliding window with the schedule? It is tough to solve It's weird, never had issue with finding a besieged.
I hope they put a system similar to Domain Invasion, where enough people in the zone trigger the event earlier. It would work pretty well for this, would even give servers the ability to coordinate and meet everyone in zone at a certain moment to "force pop" it.
Working together and playing with other humans, communicating.
What do you think this is some kind of multiplayer game. Laughable.
