I've been historically pretty vocal about how ***it is, and that there should be content in the game where you can earn them. So no, this is par for the course for me

While its endlessly debated whether the items in question serve any purpose or not... locking a wide variety of 'fun toys' behind a lottery that most players will never win has clearly been poorly received. People would sink the gil twice a year regardless if they were acquirable elsewhere through some arbitrarily tedious / months long grind

This update to double down on it is frankly baffling.. but again, its all been said before

Like I said the other day, hyped up to be let down. SE got people's emotions on a string and play with it like a yoyo. This latest play is more emotional masturbation.

Just play Bonanza when it comes around and be disappointed at something you'll never get, or grind sortie every single day of your life until your iris turns purple and obtain a better weapon (after six months). Or both. At least with the latter you're guaranteed a quality weapon no matter what, which is the same duration of time you'll have in between attempting to win Bonanza and be disappointed for the second time.

Just want to throw in that:

-They added an item called 'Kupon W-MOGB' with description of "A prize redemption coupon from the Mog Bonanza event. Issued by the Mog House Management Union (MHMU). Tradeable for Mog Bonanza weapons."

-This item is not listed as a mog bonanza reward.

So, before you get your panties in too much of a twist, it might be worth considering whether they are actually planning a way to legitimately earn the NQ weapons.

Won't be surprised if the kupon is just a prize in Shami's box game when it returns. Probably at the same rates as cat's eye and dense cluster.

The upgrade scythe is now the highest base damage weapon in the game…. Not sure how I feel about that

Don't think anyone can give anything more than speculation, but seems unlikely to me. If vanabout, probably a higher tier than previous offerings that requires considerable dedication.

I'd be more inclined to expect it from shami's box, macrocosmic orb campaign, nyzul isle ??? box, trove, or something else at an extremely low rate, personally. Keep with the luck element.

Again, speculation. Also possible the bonanza rolls out and the prize list has the kupon instead of the 15 weapons. But, there's at least some implication it's seperate between them adding the upgrade item and the kupon, but listing the weapons out on the prize page.

i'd guess it's either going to come from something new or the Ultra Rare drop in macro orb campaign & shami's box got changed from dense cluster to the kupon-MOGB.

My money is on the kupon being what the moogle gives you when you win bonanza rank1 and tell it "I can't decide Kupo!"

That's what happens with the Delve weapons if you complete the ROE and don't choose a weapon right away.

Doesn't the Moogle just give you a Key Item if you don't decide? I don't recall it ever giving you an actual Kupon item, but maybe I am misremembering. That's a good guess for what it could be though.

I'm gonna spitball here and say the Kupon is going to be a reward from a new highest "Plaudit" tier category from the Bonus VanaBout if we reach the 150% goal. Something higher than the Gold (Platinum) but not a perfect Plaudit score, as that would be very hard to obtain for most (but not a genuinely impossible task to complete if you really want the Bonanza Weapon). That is something I would actually put the effort in to with the VanaBout and it would heavily drive engagement for all of the VanaBout quests. It would also be something that the both the server as well as the individual player earned, so it would seem like a noteworthy one-time reward for someone putting in that much effort every single day of the campaign.

There's both an actual kupon item and a KI for it. The KI you get if you trade the item and say "hold this for me bro" and just never come back to it.

The rewards give you the item most of the time, at least the ROE ones do.

These exist already for the bonanza armors but not the weapons.

The dealer moogle gives you a KI if you trade a kupon and don't pick a prize. The bonanza moogle doesn't give you KIs ever as is, and it wouldn't make sense anyway since it'd rule out the non-exclusive R1 prizes to give you that kupon if you didn't decide. It didn't exist for the past ~8 bonanzas these weapons have been around, either.

It only makes sense if they have another plan for it or they just didn't update the bonanza list and the R1 prize selection will be the kupon rather than the direct weapon.

Yeah, really not very difficult to get people to buy lottery entries even if the prizes are accessible elsewhere. A completed reforged REMA was already a pretty compelling choice before these Bonanza weapons existed, despite also being obtainable the "normal way". If you want to shake things up a bit and get people more excited, put a kupon in there to trade for a Prime weapon (stage 4? stage 5?). Not as if they need any bonanza exclusive items to get people's attention.

Here's a thought... Just up the tickets to 5. Removes more gil from the system and more people will win.

They don't want you to win. Then they have to invent new ***for you to chase.

That was my first thought, just a layer of abstraction to streamline the bonanza menu or make room for additional rewards.

Would be neat if they do add other avenues for getting the base weapons. Could at least add them(or the kupon) to trove and the gobbie box.

Where does the bidding start for these in trove? 500m?

Plot twist, they're added as a direct drop from the final chest click - like the gil reward.
