Uh...what bosses and jobs are your referring to? COR on dynamis bosses?

Spoiler: absolutely no mage is routinely hitting 99k on anything, and "light DDs" whatever that means, are also not routinely hitting 99k on endgame bosses. I've probably hit 99k like 5 times ever on BRD, like 3 times on RDM, never on BLU...I'm not really sure what jobs or situations we're talking about here but it's not a thing in my experience. Are you out there popping 99k on GEO, SCH, BLM, WHM, SMN? On what?

99k is the pervue of extremely buffed prime holders, WAR under mighty strikes, hybrids, and maybe Bolster sv aria for heavy DDs. Absolutely impossible on any sheol gaol fight worth mentioning.

This "everyone hits 99k on everything" myth is really insane and doesn't even remotely reflect reality, unless I and all my friends have been playing the game wrong for years and you all have some secret to tell me.

I agree wholeheartedly. I completely feel the frustration in Maletaru's reply. For the entire life of FFXI, some people will always inflate theirs or others' in-game performance for any number of ridiculous reasons. It also creates disinformation and hurts other people's understanding of game mechanics.

TLDR:
  1. You're not better than anyone because you do 99k damage.

  2. You're a better player if you strive for continuous improvements, no matter how small AND share what you learn and make the people around you better.

  3. If you're not going to share how something is done and make baseless assertions, just don't say anything. Stop wasting other people's dailies with phony mules or fakenews.




Edit: This forum is replacing the phrase "fake n-e-w-s" with "facts I don't like". Amusing, but it diminishes my point. I've made a minor edit to bypass Rook's filter.

With FFXI, it's not that simple. People spread (and sometimes readily accept) misinformation by accident. To them, it's just news.

Meh delve is 10 minutes and vagary is an hour with 100% all alli drop.

They're both meaningless. (which is why they'll be the one they change from 3 to 1)

The shards/voids are twice weekly ***drop rate and 10x the gil (for the good ones)

It obviously wont be the npc mat

Bad drops exist to dilute the good drops. It's not an accident, if they remove them you'll just get a different bad drop added.

On that, theyve specifically said that trove is a "bonus" (thats why no exp loss on death)

And if its a bonus, that pool should only have objectively good drops and not require excessive dilution... But yeah.

The reward is rare but statistically significant enough to make you want to play the game.

Indeed Genshin 5* characters are about a 1% pull rate and the only reason people actually get them is the pitty system which guarantees you get a 5* after 80 pulls which is nearly £200.

The rest of the pulls are trash 3* weapons or 4* characters/weapons that have limited uses.

Couple of surprises there. Previous messaging about the quest weaponskills had made it sound like they weren't lowering the requirement, just boosting the value of skillchains toward it, so... now it's kind of unclear how that's going to work?

Also, wow, so, a bunch of sorely outdated weapons that I don't remember hearing about when they were new are getting easier to activate latents on, just what everybody's been asking for! I have to imagine that that's something somebody just noticed was happening as a side-effect of the changes to other weaponskill point latents, and they just threw it in there thinking it would be an easy win, a bit of "look how much we do for you."

76 job cards gets you an entire +3 set now. Those 170 cards I farmed for my new job last month looks sad now, but at least farming them going forward is going to be waaaay quicker. Sadly the gil is usually my roadblock for the last couple pieces of each set.

380 job cards of any job type gets you an entire set of any other ones you want.
