im assuming making it cheaper to make capes or kaja/pulse level weapons
Dyes and resin cost too much for sure
Gallantry prices are all *** up. metals and fibers are 5x the hallmark price, that's dumb as hell. I won't disagree with that, but consider that there's way less stuff to spend gallantry on, compared to Hallmarks.
Well... uhm, if you're done or mostly done with Armor and Capes. If you're a returning player trying to catch up I guess what I just said is not exactly true. They need to realign how much of each you can buy surely. 2 capes worth of Dye but 3 capes worth of everything else? Mild trolling at best
with their emphasis on newer players, I'd assume armor costs would go down also
At 200-300 hallmarks a pop for a soloer doing Vol2, a voucher for body +1 at 14k hallmarks is a pretty tall order. Now of course you can team up and do Vol1 for more realistic points, but we already know the majority aren't doing that.
Just hope they don't adjust any currency prices. With the exception of marrow and scoria, everything is fine as is. I've always thought this was SE's way of pushing new players towards social play. I speak from relative experience, the solo-play road gets brutal after a domain invasion weapon. I've always thought this was a great place to push players to be more social as, all the big expansion stories (other than tVR) can be soloed with Bayld gear + a DI weapon. I don't know how I feel about them trying to enhance solo play with cheaper Ambuscade upgrade options and Trust upgrades coming sometime soon. I'm not really sure if this will be an improvement for new players or not. More than 50% claim to play solo. It's not really a non-option to improve solo play.
Ambuscade "is" the starter set. Making it easier to get is the obvious route. (or they could improve the coalition set, again, lol) Hold on to those e-trophies guys, things are gonna get easier for others than they were for you, and that might make you uncomfortable.

What would you all think if, to upgrade a piece of Ambu armor to +3, the currency requirements were low, but a piece of the original pre-ilvl is required to trade in? You'd have a lot of problems with 30 blu and mnk bots clogging salvage. If you require a(nother)drop from it, you exacerbate the issue. "They could just ban the bots" No. Just no. Ovalidal said: » What would you all think if, to upgrade a piece of Ambu armor to +3, the currency requirements were low, but a piece of the original pre-ilvl is required to trade in? Nah, its time to use those pulse bodies instead, because weapons were a great idea already, yup, nothing annoying about those. In all seriousness the idea of using older variations of the armor aint the worst idea, but you would have congestion issues for awhile, not even accounting for bots/mercs. The older instances can maybe hold 4 or 5 groups before it starts declining people, so i think even smaller servers would have issues for the 1st few weeks of everyone trying to get in the door, especially when itd largely be solo people getting these pieces There are 10 instances for each salvage zone, and if you try to do any other than Arrapago you're gonna have a bad time on some servers. The bots run nonstop alternating between ambuscade and salvage. They've been doing this for well over a year now (probably longer), and any accounts hit are immediately replaced.
If I wanted to have arbitrary upgrade paths leading to something stronger I'd be playing Terraria or Old School Runescape. That ***can die as a mechanic.
What constitutes "arbitrary"? Is using an OG piece of gear to upgrade its ilvl counterpart more or less arbitrary than using a weapon skill 500 times on plantoids?
Edit: this came across as needlessly harsh. Main thing I was asking about was whether gear upgrades should be locked behind old content vs. an upgrade system being independent from other systems. I'm not really sure if this will be an improvement for new players or not. If SE wanted to push players to group up, there'd be a 3-player entrance requirement to enter Odyssey and Sortie. SE apparently has no issues with solo players plinking away at those content treadmills for a pittance of currency per run, so it's probably safe to ease the grind for the entry-level gear needed to attempt that newer content. Meeble said: » If SE wanted to push players to group up, there'd be a 3-player entrance requirement to enter Odyssey and Sortie. Two things can be true. SE does want you to group up for Odyssey and Sortie - it's quite literally impossible to clear certain areas without other players, and the grind in both events is astronomical (also impossible) solo. But both of those events are progress-based endgame events with an entry timer. SE allows for both parties and solo players to make progress towards their goals for both events. That would really suck for people looking to make progress on their empyrean/primes/rp/segments and be hindered by 3-man requirements. You'd be unable to participate if you can't find 2 bodies. I can't even remember the last event they rolled out that had a minimum-player entrance requirement (Incursion?). That hasn't been the case for some time. Also, imagine the implications if every single player decided to solo Sortie/Odyssey vs a group of 6. You'd give up entering because the queue would be 6x longer. That's obviously not what anyone wants. Grouping up makes sense for a number of reasons, and SE supports it. They recognize the need to cater to both groups, but that doesn't mean they don't want you to team up. Lakshmi.Buukki said: » I can't even remember the last event they rolled out that had a minimum-player entrance requirement (Incursion?) Dyna-D 2017, but ya, it's not a common thing. That slipped my mind. Though that one does break the norm as a 3-day event that has a person requirement.

SE does want you to group up for Odyssey and Sortie[...] Sure, let me rephrase. If SE wanted to prevent solo players from chipping away at the content in a slow, sub-optimal fashion, there'd be a group requirement for Sortie and Ody just like there is for Divergence. I'm not taking a position on whether that's good or bad, just pointing out that SE enables it, and people do it, even if the rewards for time spent seem terrible to you or me. The point of my post, which you didn't quote, is that in 2025 we have new forever grinds for those non-optimal solo players to throw themselves at, so it's probably fine if the old ambu gear grind is streamlined or reduced for those players. They need to get new people into a Naegling as soon as possible so they can skip to end game. Ambu gear is too much work for people that aren't being carried.

Can you think of anything else... Make the aeonic.
