They are also not going to group up, so it will be just lots of people soloing with trusts for no real extra revenue and so no new devs or content either. Ever hear of a 'returning player' or 'casual ls'? Some people enjoying doing chill content for funz. Edit: If any new people wanna do omen or dyna-d for funz (no gear requirement), you are always more than welcome to join the LS StruggleCuddles on Bahamut! Phoenix.Iocus said: » It's fine if people want to 6 box instead of help new people. But it does make you look a certain way if you say those people are going to clog up the content or something derogatory about them existing. All the 6 boxers I know on Bahamut at least, are more than happy to drop what they are doing and alts to help players. Finally, an Exemplar Points campaign. Waited to grind out jobs for this reason. March is going to be an EXP fest.
I wish there were more camps, preferably ones that would be hard to solo bot.

Fyi, before anyone spazzes out, Im taking “an EXP fest” to mean hes gonna dedicate significant time (2-3 hrs midweek, 6-8 over the weekend) to grinding EP that he normally wouldn't. Yeah, it's for people like me who saw the numbers to reach 50 and thought... no thanks. I'd rather live my life, lol. I also think that a one time $6 discount on monthly fees (and still needing to purchase the game client software at full price) isn't much of an incentive. I'm in a Discord with several XIV players who've been dabbling with XI in recent months, and they're saying it was cheaper for them last year when the usual Discount Campaign was on. For US players, $20 off the client software during discount + full price monthly fees is more savings than full priced client software and a $6 fee discount for this deal. SE just has no soul. All they did was take the model they had before for the FF14 launch and push it again. I'm sure it's using the same API from before. The person who made it probably doesn't even work there anymore.

I remember farming MLVLs in the Promy zones. Then Crawler's Nest [S]. Then they nuked that farm and I kinda lost interest when I saw the horrendously high number of points needed for MLVL 40-50. word - just add a ring - once a week - and add a 25 to 50% boost campaign from vanabout

Should also significantly increase EP from current endgame events: Odyssey (Sheol A-C), Sortie, new Limbus when that's released. That would also not really move the needle for botters (especially seeing as how it's inherently limited by the 30 or 60 min daily timers), but would further encourage average players to engage with those events by getting a minor additional benefit. I know for me personally, I rarely do Sortie now but would be incentivized to do it more often if I could also get a chunk of ML out of it. Current state of not being able to get good EP from anything but Apex/Locus does not motivate me to grind away on those mobs (in addition to any dailies, Ambu, or whatever other endgame activities I do) - it just makes me ignore grinding MLs, and I play less FFXI as a result. You know SE isn't going to do anything good for exemplar points bonus if you've already put in the time and already despaired. This is for the new kids and casuals. You want those big MLs to play the game on easy mode, you have to go out of your way for them. They are stretching this ***out as long as possible. Edit: I tricked Negan into upvoting this with a late edit and am a bad person for it. Well, you dont need much for that, just throw some mosquitoes then he will come and upvote Pantafernando said: » just throw some mosquitoes then he will come and upvote I'm curious how the EP Campaign 500k bonus is being enforced? Is everyone going to get a timerless buff for the duration of the campaign, and when you've gotten an extra 500k, it deactivates? If you die, does the penalty you've taken get added back to the bonus? Genuinely don't get how it will be tracked. I guess it could literally just be an ROE that counts your bonus RP and then you complete it when you've hit 500k, but in that case, that's a quest and not really a "campaign" in the true sense of the word. Or maybe they buff everyone with an invisible "Trizek Ring"-like effect that wears off after +500k.
Obviously nobody except SE knows and it doesn't matter one way or the other, but just wondering. This is the first time they have implemented an exp bonus with a cap like this before? Itll just know. No different than rings.
you die, and lose points, tough ***, you don't get extra lol And no, this is the first time they've capped a campaign. Just sounds like an invisible ring buff that lasts for the duration of the campaign and wears off after you hit the limit.
Anyone who is surprised by the cap shouldn't be. SE is just making sure the players who bot for extended hours or even days on end aren't benefitting from this full time. They aren't oblivious to it, as such they are just limiting the reward.
It is however beneficial for getting a low level master job up to a moderate master level quite quickly in comparison. That's how I would use it anyhow. No ones surprised. It just rings a little hollow. Anyone who was already botting them wouldn't bot more or less due to gaining double.
Anyone already buying wouldn't buy more or less. It may or may not encourage a handful of part time botters to go balls deep for 3 weeks, but come on. They know everyone is already botting their exemplar points. No one need to go “balls to the walls for 3 weeks” haiiiiya
A ahitty party that cant keep chain will still do 70k/hr A good party without cor that can keep chain will do 140-170k/hr between 25-35 A good group will clear the 500k in 3 hrs, a bad group in 7 And that is a-ok because the bonus is for the people who get their EP from endgame and a little dabbling with Locus. It's definitely another instance of SE being completely out of touch. Players ask for bonus campaign and they slap a fat asterisk on it. I can't wait for all the other things players asked for in the poll to get implemented in an extreme half or even quarter measure, defeating the purpose.
In a perfect world, the 500k exemplar bonus should be tracked by the vanabout moogle where it would tell you how much you've earned and how much you are still able to obtain. It should also let you toggle it on or off so you're not forced to waste any bonus exemplar points on a job a don't want such as farming in Odyssey.
But in reality it's gonna just be a double exemplar campaign that'll just randomly end at some unknown point, unless you don't hit the cap. As usual, everyone forgets that for every 14-hours-a-day player that lurks in here, there's a dozen of 6-8 hours a week players who does not bot EP overnight and doesn't have a static exp party to grind master levels (and doesn't write on FFXIAH).
For the last couple of years SE has been catering content to returners and middle-grounders, with the very sporadic pebble to nolifers*. Double EP up to 500k is huge for a 90-min-per-day player. * I'm a nolifer, so I know. Asura.Dexprozius said: » It's definitely another instance of SE being completely out of touch. Gallimaufry campaign will be double galli on all non NM sources, please look forward to it. |
