How do you look upon Mayweather now after this act? faking a fight to top Marciano.

Though, that was the general consensus of people familiar with professional fighting. The tenth round could have been the first but that doesn't make for good entertainment. Just glad I didn't pay for it. Edit*: Though I hear Mayweather made something to the tune of 300M due to the event being a Mayweather Production and Promotion. Offline

Anyone familiar with boxing can tell this was staged, Connor had no guard the entire fight, ANY boxer coulda drop him dead within first minute. It is also clear Mayweather hold back. With this fight he went from exceptional athlete to a scum, in my eyes at least, he wanted that 50-0 badly, the only way to get it was a fixed fight with a non boxer. It wasn't overhyped, it was a *** joke.
I wish I had literally 100 million dollars to bet on the obvious winner, even though it would've only paid out 10 million since it was so damn obvious. They made a Movie about this fight already, they even used an irish guy for *** sake *eye roll* Offline

When the name calling comes out, that proves my point. He originally didn't want to fight but Conor insisted, so that whole he wanted it badly statement is null and void. Like I said before, the amount of excuses will continue to fly regardless of what happened. Offline

Yeah the entire fight was overhyped as usual. The main take away from it is that MMA fighters can't box and if the tables were turned it would of had a different outcome. Nothing fake about it, just a point was proven.

Since geigei wants to talk facts, either show me proof the fight was staged or we all can continue to speculate. You can't speculate and claim to be impartial and then proceed to call me a "fanboy" for doing the exact same thing.

Whether it was faked or not doesn't really matter. Mayweather is one of the greats, but he's not the best and his 50-0 only exists because he's backed down from every fight he stood a chance at losing. His showmanship is generally terrible and as much as he wants to say this fight was different, the only reason he went as far as he did was the pure one-sidedness of it.
Nobody gonna convince a mayweather fanboy otherwise, but anyone who actually follows the sport knows who and what he is. I want to point out that I don't follow boxing, I just saw the tweet and thought it was funny.

Either show me proof or I'm done wasting my time. EVERYONE is speculating in this thread yet I'm the fanboy? Plus boxing has always been a science of not getting hit, so tell me again about following a sport, please. Every fighter Floyd defeated was based on logic, either they beat a person that everyone claimed could beat him, or they were on track of becoming a great boxer. I've followed boxing for more than 20 years (still young I know) but to sit here and make an asinine statement about someone's greatness just shows the amount of bias in this thread.

How is this even a discussion?
Mayweather, with a 49-0 record, never had a loss or draw. McGregor had never professionally boxed before. Fake? Not fake? Staged? Not staged? Breaking a professional boxing record by beating someone that had never professionally boxed before is as "fake" as one can be. A match with Sylvester Stallone would have had more meaning. At least he played a professional boxer in the movies seven times. It didn't have to be staged. It was so obvious that 93% of all bets were placed on Mayweather (Thursday article that I amn't going to search for.)

Your 100M would have gotten you 4M at best. geigei said: » 50-0 fake. Yes a guy who has been boxing forever vs a guy who not only used all his energy to scream and yell. But used all his energy at the beginning while mayweather waited then once he saw Connor was getting tired he went to town.....sounds more like stragety moron. Even though personally I was hoping Conor would win but facts are facts. Now let us see mayweather do an MMO fight and see how he fairs against Mcgregor.
