I'm trying to get my Xbox One wireless controller to work via bluetooth on my desktop. Currently it works perfectly on my laptop. Everything on each machine is the same except for 1 thing as far as I can tell, the XInput on the desktop is greyed out and I am unable to select it. On the laptop I am able to select and unselect it at any time under any predefined setups.
Both machine's OS are Windows 10 version 1607 build 14393.1358
Both machine's driver details are located in the Bluetooth menu, labeled Xbox Wireless Controller and are version 10.0.14393.1198.
I have 1 bluetooth dongle that I switch between them depending on which machine I use.
I have tried copying/overwriting the xinputdll.dll file from the (working) laptop to the desktop. I have tried changing the registry values on the desktop to match the laptop's. The registry values seem to read different on each machine, or are interpreted differently when they are entered manually. I have tried using US & EU config by opening the .exe directly from the folders. I have probably tried other things I am not recalling at the moment.
Again, the only difference that is obvious to me is the inability to select XInput on the non-working desktop. When attempting to use the controller on the desktop I get varying results. Up is down on the movement stick, some buttons do nothing, triggers don't work, directional pad is inoperable. On the laptop everything is exactly how I want it. I am scared to change anything on the laptop because it's the only way I can play right now and I don't want to risk losing the ability to play with the controller.
Please send help.
