Hi,

I'm currently using the weapon a Great Sword which is at level 410 (in blue under combat skills) and wondering if I should increase this further by using Merit Points? Is there any benefit to increasing this skill more?

All skills should be maxed. There isn't a limit to the number of skills you can cap and XP is easy to get.
