August 2016 Version Update
Tried gigas on D. BRD mule that is not amazing but not tragic was resisted with JA Lullaby. Just normal resist message, so someone with better gear might be able to do it.
They did something to remove my pld's shield and made skillchains. Kind of a long delay to get in, but I'll try to see what else I can figure out before I get frustrated and switch to acroliths. Edit: ES Sleep was also resisted. Going to try pulling with aoe on PLD to avoid the beeline for the WHM on pull thing. Defense from VIT is now 1.5:1

You only have to kill the big Acrolith. The fight automatically ends after he goes down. Main Acrolith can use Mighty Strikes. It caught me off guard and one shot me with some tp move. Not sure which move, battlemod just said "special attack" but it looks like it spams Dire Straight so maybe that was it?
2 min fight on VD with PUP tank, DNC, WAR, GEO, WHM, SMN. Seems simple enough Was literally just coming in to say that.
He seems to take less damage when his adds are out, but we're still testing to confirm. Entirely possible WAR will be nice for Tomahawk yet again. Successfully cleared this month's D Intense with RUN BLU BRD SMN GEO WHM. Nothing was very threatening aside from one move the boss does which is AoE damage, Silence, knockback and depletes MP to 0. Counterable with high values of Refresh or forcing your WHM and GEO to buy a Vile Elixir/+1 for every fight (lol). Testing the range on that, but it might be over 20'. Also testing if Scherzo/EA was even needed.

This is also the same update they are lowering the damage from aoe moves and spells This definitely helps melee survive easier which opens up a vast more jobs currently not seeing much play. Vit increase for defense for players. Evasion lowered for high level monsters. Lowering the dmg of enemy mobs aoe abilities and magic This is a quality of life win for the entire ffxi player base If I ever want to take that extra little bit of extra damage I will consider unsing the new set.
I just did a small test with Apex Crabs using check commands:
Acc 934 - high evasion Acc 1040 - no hints Acc 1078 - low evasion Wikia says with low evasion message, youre at least at 80% hit rate, with 1% hit rate every 2 acc, you need 1108 to reach 95% hit rate on apex crabs. Can't wait to do more NM now

Arent they just a direct increase in defense? Before update it was 2 vit for 1 defense, now its 1.5 so we should have like more 100 def than before. Its like just a def food. I dont see that much difference, its just a small boost imo. Might just be me, but good luck getting back on if you D/C.
The Playonline part is having serious issues right now, cant get back on at all. Just wanted to alert that the test was just what i could do before going to work, and there was just one apex crab before reive so im not sure if that crab was 128, 129 or 130. As someone who sees returnees, it's crazy how anyone can expect them to get the gears they are suggesting. Those who claim it is stupidly easy and will take 2 hours have groups of friends or multiple accounts. Returning players have nothing, they don't even have ways of making gil. These players struggle to do Dynamis and Salvage solo .. yet they are expected to beat ilvl NMs? There's one guy on my server who does Ambuscade and is one of the gimpiest players I've seen in a while. It's like .. they started the game, got to 99, and jumped into Very Difficult Ambuscade. Tried to get them to do other basic things like Skirmish and get their reforged .. but nooo, they have to set up Very Difficult Ambuscades as party leader. At least they are persistant, otherwise they would have nothing but some cheap level 99 gear. I got this person in my party once. It took us 9-10 minutes per kill (they were on THF and missed constantly). So I replaced them and we got it down to 3-5 minutes. And people expect returnees to do Escha and Reisenjima with ease??? They probably don't even have their nation missions done to enter these zones! I've been helping a few players with Cloud Of Darkness. Hell, til they've done that there's no point in them doing anything more. That's a good marker, if you can get past that then I would say you have sufficient experience and equipment to challenge Escha stuff. But on Reisenjima NM, you would be very lucky to make a pick up party. I still need that damn Golden Kist NM, but no one wants to do it. I've asked my Vagary LS members if they want to help out .. but most of them have done it and only want T3+ So all this elitism is incredibly annoying. Server population is just one obstacle. Then you need to find the right people, with the right jobs, who can actually listen and have some idea of what to do. Those who are in endgame linkshells with several friends, you are EXTREMELY lucky to have that. Those linkshells who I see get Aeonic after Aeonic are EXTREMELY lucky that you not only have the time, but you are on a server which has decent enough players to go through that repeatedly. Come to Cerberus where no *** wants to do anything ever. Then you might begin to see why these casual players don't just go out and get Escha/Reisen gear in 2 hours. Has anyone done the new quest? I assume it is a continuation of the RoE quests for those who have done all coalitions, etc. Can anyone confirm?
Because chatting in MMOs is not trendy anymore.
