People still merc D-ring these days? What's stopping you from buying the shanks yourself? Like Tidis said, the drop rate is pretty bad (screw you people that are like 1/1, 0/96 myself which are probably 3/4 from login points and the rest 400k-1m over the past few years). If someone agrees to sell you d-ring for that price, they are taking a HUGE risk and might be pants on head stupid.

his price was 12m not 8, which has a 50% margin in favor of the seller to compensate for luck.. if they value their time relatively low or have login mules for shanks it's a pretty good deal

i wasn't offering to sell it, my time is worth 20-30m/hr minimum

Or just friendly since everyone has D.ring anyway and to find buyers at times is slow - So why not. ***i gave shanks away for free and ppl get ring of said shanks. That nub had maybe 5M in his whole career and was so happy he had ring that he mastered 3 Jobs the next 3 weeks he played. lol

I can ONLY speak from my personal experience with D-ring and its assumed value due to horrific luck, of which I'm sure Striker can sympathize with. If someone offered to sell me one at 12m I'd buy one on all 3 of my characters at this point, because its getting real old, real fast. I can farm gil without issue, not a problem there, but after you hit such a streak it gets a bit hard to continue the pursuit.
