I've looked and don't see a thread on WWE/NXT. It is what it is, sports entertainment. Fake and storylined it may be, but some of this stuff actually hurts.
Congratulation Asuka!
WWE/NXT Fans Where? |

WWE/NXT fans where?
I was a huge fan as a kid, attitude era and all that. These days I kinda go months without looking at it and then catch highlights etc.
I actually just found out about Asuka and got a huge weeb *** after seeing her in Brennan Williams' Twitter feed. I keep missing out on a lot of things I think would have had me back in at least for a while. I never saw CM Punk when he was active, but watching clips long after he left WWE he quickly became my favorite wrestler. Another one I missed out on was Daniel Bryan, who I would have been a huge fan of because of the parallels to my all-time favorite, Chris Benoit. Everytime I do try and watch it though it ends up being boring. Triple H and Stephanie talking way too much, or the main good guy character getting screwed over as per usual. More than anything though I am a fan of Botchamania though. That Kana is really an interesting person--used to be a graphic designer for Nintendo, worked as a journalist on the XBox Magazine, was a hairdresser and figure skater, etc. :p
Reminds me of other surprising wrestler backstories, like that of Chad Brock (the US country singer), who had previously wrestled with WCW before beginning his music career. I get paid to write articles for a wrestling news site. If you're interested, you can read them on ewrestlingnews.com and look for Kyle Dunning. Or you can make me a tiny bit of money by liking the Facebook page as well? I know .. cheap plugging like Mick Foley. Have a nice day!
NXT Takeover Dallas was amazing. Congrats to Asuka and American Alpha. Shinsuke Nakamura lived up to the hype, and Bobby Roode showed up outta' nowhere! And if anyone says wrestling is fake .. direct them to the Sid Vicious ankle injury, or the Vader eyeball out of socket incident .. or the Joey Mercury being smashed in the face by a ladder spot. The key word is "scripted", not "fake". The moves still hurt, and the wrestlers do pick up injuries. Half of the current WWE roster is on the injured list. I was pretty amazed they (shane mcmahon) admitted half the stuff on raw when he came out about ratings dropping, stock dropping, so many injured, etc Odin.Godofgods said: » Cerberus.Kylos said: » Half of the current WWE roster is on the injured list. I wouldn't be surprised if Shane screws Taker and shows his real intentions tonight. It could be a ploy by the McMahons to get Taker to retire, that's the only thing which makes sense to me at this point. Where after a great match they have taker in the position to clearly win. Then he walks outs or allows himself to lose as a final screw you to vince. - After all that specific talk to allow vince to utter the phrase that taker was his ***. and the hole in the logic of if taker loses then he wont compete at maina anymore per vinces orders has made me wonder since he first said it. If he loses, and shane takes over, shane could simply reinstate him?

I'm not seeing 20 names for this yet. Lakshmi.Kathee said: » Odin.Godofgods said: » Cerberus.Kylos said: » Half of the current WWE roster is on the injured list. Thats true for sure. yea, he had a match tonight.
From what I have been hearing the matches were great, but the storyline that goes with most of them was poop.
I wish WWE would take an approach more like what I have heard Lucha Underground is like (I've only heard about it, but apparently there is magic and something akin to Dragonballs). Having it broken down into more of a season-based storyline, with maybe a season off or something, but either way not two shows a week. It would probably be a tough sell to the wrestlers, as it would definitely mean less screen time for a lot of people, but also would mean fewer injuries and better quality stories to go with it. What they could probably pull off if they wanted to would be to make Smackdown into something else, something not story driven, where wrestlers who don't have huge storylines going on can just do the wrestles. Have a ladder or something they can work towards, a side tournament where they can win their way up to getting into Raw for a title shot or #1 contender shot. That would add some credibility to the whole concept of a #1 contender... if #1 contender is even something they do in the shows anymore. They gotta do something besides just bringing back a bunch of retireds and The Rock every couple months when everyone is falling asleep. Well, ***...
Pioneering WWE legend Joanie “Chyna” Laurer, who found renewed fame as a reality TV star, has died. She was 45. Laurer, whose TV gigs included a celeb edition of Fear Factor and VH1’s The Surreal Life as well as an episode of 3rd Rock From the Sun, was found dead Wednesday evening in her home outside Los Angeles, according to ProWrestlingSheet.com. A cause of death has not been released. “It is with deep sadness to inform you today that we lost a true icon, a real life superhero,” read a statement on Chyna’s official Twitter account. “Joanie Laurer aka Chyna, the 9th wonder of the world has passed away. She will live forever in the memories of her millions of fans and all of us that loved her.” Laurer had been open about her long struggle with substance abuse. She even appeared on the inaugural season of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew in 2008. In a 2015 interview with VICE Sports, Laurer discussed some of the challenges she faced as a female wrestler. Fapping to 1 night in Chyna will certainly be different now

Since I had recently read about the issues she's had, it wasn't completely surprising though. Substance and mental abuse both take their tolls, and this is all too common.
Looking at some matches with this Nakamura guy. I love the poses etc, half expecting his Stand to show up any second during a match.
