It would appear you do not receive x 2 item.
So if you plan on farming this I would wait. No word from Square-enix yet.

Vagary campaign bugged?
It would appear you do not receive x 2 item.
So if you plan on farming this I would wait. No word from Square-enix yet. "It would appear"? Either you got 2 items or you didn't. The campaign gives you a random item after you turn in the 5 ki's for your reward. So you get whatever you pick + 1 random item, if that didn't happen then it's bugged but the way you worded that makes it sound like you're confused by what this event entails. Would love some clarification either way though, thanks.
It's possible it tried to give an item you already had?
The post says you get 2 >additional< items. You only receive 1 >additional< item. So yes, it appears either their translation team ***the bed or it is bugged.
I've traded in twice today and no one else who traded in (i took a 18-player alliance) said they didn't get a second drop. It's likely a translation error; the Vagary Campaign has only ever given one additional random drop with whatever you choose. I still refer to it as the "2nd drop", or "campaign drop".
Reading comprehension, c'mon guys.
SE Post said: Additionally, exchanging the following key items at the Odyssean Passage in Leafallia (H-8) will yield two additional rewards*. Additional means supplementary. By the description of the event, you should be getting double what the prior vagary campaigns gave. That is not the case, it's currently functioning the same as the prior campaigns. The question is whether it's the fault of a bad translation or they simply implemented it wrong. Leviathan.Comeatmebro said: » Reading comprehension, c'mon guys. The question is whether it's the fault of a bad translation or they simply implemented it wrong. Translation error is most likely; they do that crap a lot! On the latest version update notes there was a sentence so badly translated it gave me a headache. If the translation was correct, it would be Vagary Campaign PLUS! (Damn I would love that so much..) Also it's accepted among my LS members that if you get a drop you already have, you get an Etched Memory or Codex instead. Edit: When they say "two additional rewards", they mean two extra drops from what you got while doing Vagary before trade-in (they assume everyone got something, no matter how small). Normally you only get one additional reward, so if you read it like that it makes sense. You're trying really hard to justify their mistake.
* These are the same rewards as those available via the dialogue option "Whatever the master deems worthy." As it says these, plural, it's referring to multiple rewards fitting those conditions. The text very clearly indicates we were intended to receive double what the normal campaign awards. I don't doubt it's a mistake on the text as opposed to a mistake on the behavior, but it's pretty clear what the text says. I'm not seeing it. I mean, they only refer to "these rewards" in the plural sense because they are talking about the range of rewards you can get from collecting the key items. You get one additional reward, the one you choose, and the second reward which is completely random and only drops items like you chose "Whatever the master deems worthy". (So you picking the random option gives you two additional rewards from whatever the master deems worthy)
Trust me man, you're reading way, way too much in to this. If we were getting TWO random drop slots, that would mean three additional rewards for collecting the ward key items, and it would be labelled as Vagary Campaign PLUS! Just like Delve Campaign PLUS! Or just like Wildskeeper Reive Campaign PlUS! when they give us 4 HP bayld instead of 2. I think ya trying too hard to find something wrong with how they worded it, and we should all know by now they don't have the best translators. Original Vagary Campaign said: Vagary Campaign During this campaign, defeated monsters are more likely to drop the Etched Memory and Codex of Etchings items. Additionally, exchanging the following key items at the Odyssean Passage in Leafallia (H-8) will yield an additional reward. Fabricated Ward of Biting Winds / Fabricated Ward of Miasma / Fabricated Ward of Impurity / Fabricated Ward of Ashen Wings / Fabricated Ward of the False King http://www.playonline.com/pcd/topics/ff11us/detail/14205/detail.html Yes I read that. When I read it initially I thought.. oh so it's the same as before. I never once thought we would get three additional rewards for trading in. No one in my LS thought that either. Literally no one except you and the OP thought SE made a mistake here. Don't get me wrong, I would love for you to be right, but this is just a regular Vagary Campaign and nothing more.
The first campaign says 'an additional reward'. The current one says 'two additional rewards'. How is this hard to understand? Are you really prepared to argue those have the same intended meaning?
Ok this isn't the first time they said this. Look here >> Your text to link here... Decembers campaign said the exact same thing and it was a regular campaign. They reworded it in December for some reason; I checked Octobers and it only said one additional.
So yes, I will argue with you about this. I would LOVE for you to be right but your not. And I hate having to tell people when they are wrong, I'm not one of those people who enjoy it. Making the same mistake twice doesn't mean much. It could have been intended to be 2 then as well.
Again, are you prepared to argue that 'an additional reward' and 'two additional rewards' have the same meaning when used in the same context? Because otherwise, either the text or the campaign is incorrect. The text is questionable. I prefer the second description, with them saying you get two additional rewards. Because you do, you trade in five ward key items and get two rewards instead of the usual one when the campaign isn't on. It's how you look at it. I'm sure SE would have added Vagary Campaign PLUS! if it was intended to be the way you describe; to distinguish between a regular Vagary Campaign and one where it's meant to drop more.
That's maybe why they changed the description in the first place, because someone pointed out you don't get one reward, you actually get two from trading in wards during the campaign. Also it's quite difficult to "get the campaign wrong", they are messing around with the game and must get it working as intended otherwise they get backlash for forcing an emergency maintenance. Remember there's Tartaru Platemails up for grabs, and I honestly can never see them adding a Vagary Campaign PLUS; they really don't want too many platemails and synth materials. Damn Kincard that avatar gives me a headache .. not as much as this thread but still.

I was waiting for Kincard to grab the JP version and clarify the situation!
So it's a translation error as assumed. Well they have put it in the "Accepted Bugs" on the forum.
That just means it was submitted in the correct bug format, it doesn't mean that it is a bug.
I had no issue with my trade in yesterday :/ im very lost.
