Customizing

i found this pic from a linkshell site that was linked to in another thread. my question is how can i get my interface or whatever you wanna call it to look like this or similar? first, i noticed some of the buff/debuff icons look different. then the font is different i think. also the highlight marker in left menu, is nice. is this windower addons or dat mods. i've heard of dat mods, but never really looked into it. also i don't have windower, i personally don't need it unless thats what i need to spruce up games look. also, the graphics look nice here but i'm sure this pic is a little bit photoshopped. i used the ffxicalculator thing to set my graphics to max. if anyone can help me out with this, i'd appreciate it.



also, i've seen some other pics on here with ppl having colored borders in there pt box and stuff i'd assume same thing does that as well.

I'm not 100% positive, but i believe the font, cursor, and icons are differant just because that is the european version of the game lol. Gotta move to europe!

I don't trust you people...

FFXIStyle changes fonts, window colors, status icons, etc. You don't need Windower but you need to be on PC.

FFXICartography changes the ingame maps to the maps you'd find on FFXIAtlas, showing (Among other things) NM spawns, HELM (Harvesting Excavating Logging and Mining) locations, Elemental spawn areas, Coffer spawns etc. Same as FFXIStyle, it requires you to be on PC but you don't need Windower.

The link I provided was an installer file that lets you configure the settings so you don'tt risk swapping wrong .dats. It installs/manages what Eternius described.

i didnt like the FFXICartography at first, but once i got used to it its really awsome, just wish it would have given me the maps im still missing :(

yeah my bad, hadn't looked at it at that point. i installed it with invisable background, how can i change it after installing? i like the chat log invisable, but i still want my pt with a background and stuff. also, how would i go about adding the updated version stuff cuz i notice some other icons were added after the installer was made. and i couldn't find a cartography link on there either. thanks for the help.

Taking my post down............the uninstaller for the program(POLUtil by Pebbles) I linked the site too just showed up on a virus scan I did today 09/04/2009. This is the first time in 2 years it has shown up...I do not know if it has to do with visiting the site 2 days ago to get the proper link or not.

ok, i got cartography. how do i make the chat log background invisable but keep the background on pt and stuff. also, in the pic i posted they have drops and xp gained separated from the chatlog, how do you do that?

ok, i figured it was cuz i noticed on some of the their other pics the characters stand out more so i knew they were using photoshop on some things.

i would have to manually do the backgrounds being different thing huh?

It would be impossible, unless I'm missing something. FFXI uses the same .dat color box for all window backgrounds (Log, party list, info window, etc) so if you changed one you'd change them all.

Edit: Also you can tell it's photoshopped because Fafnir is still at 60% HP and it already shows its drops. Would be a bit weird if it dropped at that time c.c
