So I never got that far into "Treasures of Aht Uhrgan", but I've seen enough to know that Luzaf was a character

Now that I am finally going through all missions, I got to hear some cutscenes that did talk about HIM, even saw HIM in action, but all this time, all these years, I knew he was a SHE!
It's obvious right? A mighty pirate leader with a kind of feminine look? This is an obvious callback to Faris from Final Fantasy 5! Same exact deal, and a very nice reference!
OR SO I THOUGHT!!!
Turns out that it is meant to be a HE. Totally male, all the time, and I'm so baffled, because looking up online, it doesn't seem like anyone else was confused about this like me.
Sorry, but I felt like writing this topic. I wonder why they would not make a reference like this, and the only thing coming to mind is that they wanted to fake us out, like...... everyone will expect it to be a crossdressing girl like Faris, so why not blow everyone's mind by having it be a dude all along?
... or they just wanted to do that cause Japan.... I don't know. I just wanted to ask if anyone else felt odd about this.
