Kali, I'm gonna ask you the same question I've asked each one of these "Ask a ________" posts:
If you could be a tree, what would you be and why?
Also:
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
Oppan gungnam style?
Where did you put the murder weapon?
If you were the last person on earth, who would you want to be stranded with before both of you succumb to madness and end up killing each other off?
I guess a Wisteria, tho I think that's technically a vine...
A woodchuck would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.
or...
A New York fish and wildlife technician named Richard Thomas had calculated the volume of dirt in a typical 25–30-foot (7.6–9.1 m) long woodchuck burrow, and had determined that if the woodchuck had moved an equivalent volume of wood, it could move "about 700 pounds (320 kg) on a good day, with the wind at his back". Another study, which considered "chuck" to be the opposite of upchucking, determined that a woodchuck could ingest 361.9237001 cubic centimetres (22.08593926 cu in) of wood per day.
whichever you like.
hmmmm maybe.
Under my pillow.
With D, so we could fight off the zombies together.
If you could only pick one of the following, what would you pick and why?:
-be the wealthiest person alive
-cure cancer permanently
-live forever
-change anything about your past
-be Einstein level smart
I would want to cure cancer, though I don't think it's likely we will. Cancer is inevitable if you live long enough, and many people have had multiple cancers in their lifetime. Unfortunately, cancer is such a broad term, so I don't know if we'll ever get to the point of curing "cancer". We'll definitely find ways of helping those who suffer and limit the damage to their body, and prevent people from developing even worse forms, but I don't think we'll ever find a cure. But who knows? Maybe 1000 years from now we'll have a solution to cancer and old age.
1) Your favorite type of music?
2) Your favorite game franchise?
3) Your favorite animal(s)?
4) Your favorite food?
5) Your favorite season?
I love emotional music, something that gets my heart feeling, so I guess I'm very particular in what I listen to. I tend to not like anything that doesn't make me feel, that includes music, games, or anything. If I don't feel, I don't like it. I also tend to not really care if there is any singing involved, because what really matters to me is the music. You could have an amazing singer with great lyrics, but if the music behind them is subpar, I won't care for it at all.
I LOVE the piano, so, so much. There really isn't an instrument that comes close to it for me, it's just such a personal connection.
I tend to listen to kylelandry occasionally when I'm working on stuff and I just want some music playing in my head. here's one of my favorites of his:
I don't care for Rock much, the majority of it I find tends to focus towards sex, so I generally don't like it, but some of it is emotional. I grew up listening to Creed, so I can't help but to love them.
I tend to dislike pop... if the music isn't just awful, they tend to just give a negative message in them. There are some I like, but it's not something I'd listen to all day.
Generally, anything Hans Zimmer I'll like. He knows how to put emotion in his music.
I don't really listen to rap... though some can have some good messages, take Eminem - Headlights for example:
Their words just carry so much passion, it makes me feel good listening to this type of music. I can have a rotten awful day, turn K-LOVE on, and just start smiling about someone singing about God or something they care a great deal about. It just strips away everything negative I'm feeling and I can just enjoy the music.
Something I probably listen to the most though would be electronic music, probably due to my love for old video games. It's just something about the beats that just makes me want to start moving and having fun, then D looks over at me thinking I'm crazy.
I probably am.
That's tough... if you asked me 5 years ago I would undoubtedly say Final Fantasy, but with the lack of 'Final Fantasy' type games, I have grown to love the Souls franchise more. The combat is great, really great, and the level designs are amazing. Those wow moments when you finally make it past the Hellkite Dragon, turn right, run down the stairs as she's breathing fire at you killing all the undead, and you are left with two options, left or right, and you choose left and find a ladder, and as you go down the ladder you see an already lit bonfire and your left with, "....WHAT?!?!". Those moments in level design are by far my most favorite.
I also love the lore, very, very much. That's not to say Final Fantasy doesn't have great lore, but in MY opinion, they have used it to their advantage very poorly over the past 10 years, and the heart can only take so much I guess.
If they released a real Final Fantasy game though, I would be all over it, but I think their current direction is just more modernized AAA gaming, so I don't know if we'll ever get that Final Fantasy type game again, but it's possible.
Again, only MY opinion, you're all free to feel w/e you like. Just, to me, a game has a certain FEEL to it as you play it, and Final Fantasy games had a unique special feel to them that no other game had, and their most recent ones lack.
Dogs :) I can't help it, they are just so loving and genuinely care about you. When I hurt my left knee pretty badly, my dog knew I wasn't feeling myself, and would keep putting her chin on my lap looking up at me and I'd pet her, then she'd jump up on the couch and lay next to me and just cuddle. They really have such a big heart.
I answered this before, but it's something along the lines of chicken & shrimp with pasta an alfredo sauce, or jambalaya with shrimp and chicken. Yums.
My favorite season is hands down Winter :) I really dislike hot muggy seasons, with high humidity, so that pretty much made me love Winter time. Feeling that cold air against your skin, but with a coat you are all snuggled up an comfy defending against the elements, it's just such a cool feeling. I love the touch of cold against my skin, but I also need a lil heat to help me fight against it.
As was mentioned during the Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX, we'll be introducing a feature for the Duty Finder in patch 2.1 that will place you in a random dungeon in order to get people participating in a wider variety of dungeons.
Specifically, we will be breaking down dungeon content into different categories such as leveling dungeons, level 50+ dungeons, and primal battles, and players will be matched for random content. You'll be able to challenge each category once every real-world day and as a reward you will receive each kind of Allagan tomestones. Participants will be matched with priority on content that is lacking members.
Also, in order to strike a proper balance between this plan and the experience points gained by participating in FATE, we will be increasing the amount of experience points gained in dungeons in patch 2.1.
That's for FFXIV of course but you get the idea. I did that for about 3 years, and after the first year Scragg messaged me:

Couple of the mods suggested I give you a purple bar, which means VIP. I typically give it to other site admins or developers. I'm ok with it, I just want to check with you first.
So I said sure!! and that's how I got my purple bar. :)
From the 'Souls' series, I would have to say Shanalotte, because I think she would be the only one that wouldn't end up killing me. They all are a bit crazy.
Now, I haven't finished Dark Souls 2 DLC bosses, and I've heard bits and pieces that there are some really, really good bosses in there, but from what I've experienced in Souls games, my favorite would have to be Sif, just because of the story that goes along with him, and how he doesn't want anyone else to endure what Artorias did. In Bloodborne, I would have to say either Vicar Amelia, or the Abhorrent Beast... that guy was HARD to beat on NG+3 solo on the rooftop, jeez.
Least favorite... I know most people would tend to go for Pinwheel, but his story is pretty awesome, so I guess I would just have to say Capra Demon, just because of the small room you have to fight him in. It's just so evil. Now.. in Bloodborne.... probably Bloodletting Beast for its stupid reach. In Dark Souls 2, it would be the Executioner's Chariot, I died more to that boss than any boss in my playthrough. I was getting to the point of RAGE because enemies no longer were spawning on the way to the boss. Yea, I wasn't happy to be around then.
Easiest is Pinwheel of course.
Abhorrent Beast, NG+7, on top of that roof top. Yea.
Favorite breed of cat
Favorite type of ice cream
Favorite type of video game
Favorite movie
Favorite genre of music
Favorite anime?
I don't like cats...so I can't say.
Peanut Butter Chocolate Ice Cream... no competition.
Classic RPG, pretty much that.
A Beautiful Mind, a few might be better but it's a bit personal to me.
I answered music before~!
Anime is a very, VERY, sensitive subject with me. I almost don't even watch it anymore. I use to a lot, but the fanservice has become so ridiculous that I can't even force myself to watch some of these shows. Old Anime though, I have no issues with. Something from Studio Ghibli would probably take the top spot for me. Also to be fair, I forgot the names of many Anime's I've loved, so yea.
If the answer isn't action RPG I am so done with this thread.
Action RPG... hmmmm that's pretty much what FFXV will be. I guess we'll see, but no, Action RPG's don't usually take my top spots, but they can be good.
I would want to cure cancer, though I don't think it's likely we will. Cancer is inevitable if you live long enough, and many people have had multiple cancers in their lifetime. While it's possible we won't be able to find a way to avoid developing cancers, curing all kinds is most certainly achievable, and not even that far away considering current research and the way it speeds up every year.
And we're also less than a century away from immortality too, our dna manipulation is getting really good. Although this has strong ethical problems(not from me personally).
