Why do people waste the Time to edit out the windower plug-ins on their Screen shots? It is still so obvious your using the program. Also the names of the characters in the SS. If the person did not want to have a screen shot of them talking they would not talk at all. Just because almost all of us have a camera phone and can SS with out the use of fraps or windower. I just find it something to b($%^ about cause it is pointless IMO.

Actually, you can take full window screen shots without Windower. If you put the game in windowed mode, just click on the taskbar, hit the "Print Screen" button, then open up Paint and hit Paste. Viola, ss with chat logs and all.
It looks better, that's why.

Btw it takes no time to "edit them out". Its a setting in windower. You can simply turn it off and the plug ins disappear during screen shots. Takes 10 secs to do and you only have to do it once.

It's just an elaborate hoax somebody came up with years ago, there is no unofficial Windower.
But yeah, sysrq bind screenshot hide png in the init.txt file or something like that hides everything but Timestamp. Makes your pics look way better without all those plugins cluttering the picture.

I've been tempted over the years to revoke FFXIAH.com access for anyone that complains about Windower being an unfair advantage or otherwise harming the game. On a one-strike basis.

It's about Windower, and thus it must be a complaint!
I gotta complain on how adding a full-sized screenshot to a thread causes issues since we have to scroll like crazy left and right in order to read anything in the thread. >.>

I think I'll have to bookmark Jaerik's comment to throw into the inevtiable 6+ "Windower == hax" threads that pop up every month.

bmp, jpg, png as you please, I use PNG.
