It worked for me, I logged onto my PS2 and put in the CC info and bam. It worked. I didn't even have to bother with the 3-D Secure code.
So, if you have a PS2 in the closet and are struggling.
Whip it out and give it a whirl. :]

Registration server still having problems?
It worked for me, I logged onto my PS2 and put in the CC info and bam. It worked. I didn't even have to bother with the 3-D Secure code.
So, if you have a PS2 in the closet and are struggling. Whip it out and give it a whirl. :] Makes you wonder.. is all of this worth the trouble just to play a damn game? lol
I'm having the same problem, log into POL and get a message saying i need to pay overdue fee's blah blah, so i re-enter my card details and it says it's invalid/error message.
I play on PC and don't own a ps2 or 360, i've tried using my boyfriend's PC but still no go. Also this is the only card i have and can use and have been using for nearly 2 years. The problem started yesterday morning, checked bank and there's money in there so..just a bit stuck on what to do :/ Seems alot of the problems people have been experiencing, has been sorted out already... Just got my brand new, just outta the envelope, smells like vinyl and plastic, Verified by Visa + 3D secure card in the mail like 45 mins ago... Updated my info, or at least tried. No good. Tells me that my card is invalid.
Yes, I have activated it by calling the number, and yes, I did the verify thing on the Visa site. Is there something I'm missing? Maybe I have to wait 24 hours before use or something? Or are the servers still down, or being overloaded? WTF is going on SE?! I'm getting tired of this crap real quick :( My dynamis ls leader is having the same problems and all they said to her was "sorry there's nothing we can do at the moment, just wait it out."
Gotta love SE helpful services.. Diabolos.Chupacabra

Just as a side note...I just spent the last few minutes going over my CC bill from my last card. It appears my card that wouldn't work cause it wasn't 3D verified, and due to that would not allow me to log in and pay/play, was charged for August. I was kicked on August 1st and was not able to log in for the entire month.
They charged me on a card that wasn't valid for their services and still locked me out of the damn game... after I paid for the month?! Mother.... ffffFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!! /pant /pant. Oh man... this is gonna make me break my vow to not yell at SE reps on telephones ; ; If it still works try what i mentioned... use a unverified card... then when it asks for your verified card info.. USE the verified card.... then hit edit/back and enter the verified card details and hit update payment info.
It should trick the system and make it take your card info. I had another person send me a PM thanking me that it worked. Leapfroging the system for the win lol. Diabolos.Chupacabra

I recently got the "no content ID" message...
My bank does not support 3-d secure thing, so here's what i did... I called the playonline info thing, and i said, I want to use a Credit Card that is not supported by the 3-d secure feature of Mastercard. The attendant said that it would normally work with me verifying that I am the card holder over the phone, but that Playonline has been having problems for a week with changing credit card information. So he took my card info. (it didn't work) and said that when the problem is resolved from within Playonline, they will restore my content ID and update the card info. automatically... sounded kinda fishy... but apparently, you CAN use cards that don't support the "secure" feature, but you have to call-in to do so... I am having the same issues! I don't have a CC that is supported by this damn 3-D secure thing. However, I did call and update my card over the phone last month with SE, and no problems. I tried that this month (on a Friday) and SE said they are having "issues" with updating CC over the phone. They tried it a few times, and it woudn't go through. The told me they would send my paper work to the "higher ups" and that as soon as the issue is resolved they would call me and I would be able to log in. However SE dont work on weekends so...I guess no gaming for me this weekend. I just hope I can get on this week! October 6, there haveing an update that "Should" fix the problem. LOL meaning we allll have to wait another 2 days to get this fixed.

Concider this my first and probably only post on these forums. (No offense to anyone out there, I'm just quiet.) This problem is completely related to the verification process with the cards. I actually got a tip from playonline when it kept happening to me. Used the PS2 to reactivate my account since the PS2 can't ask for verification, no problem at all. However it appears to not be a permanent fix, so I may have to try the trick Cailleach mentioned.

You thanked the wrong person ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh *head into wall* Just kidding though but no glad it works, i had to do it for a friend's account this month and the trick still works. I had problems with the registration of my 3-D secure mastercard as well. I talked to a PoL supervisor - he advised me to bypass any routers on the PC (step 1) and make sure my information was in all CAPITAL letters. (step 2) Worked like a charm. Hope this helps anyone out.
