Something like http://www.fraps.com/ will let you see the FPS for a certain window. If anyone else knows of something feel free to post instead of trolling :) Kalila said: » Bismarck.Josiahkf said: » Windower has a fps counter built in I think if you push f12 or something There might be other options that are better, I just don't know of them. /unlimited would allow the game to be played at 60fps, but it also revealed a lot of the animations are locked at 30fps.
Windower added FPS uncapper to their plugin "Config".

It's max frame rate is 30FPS (more like 29.4 in practice) but it has like 3 different sampling points that determine how many frames a particular animation will use. That's why they capped framerates while fishing, because if you're above 15FPS, the game will use 30 frames for the animation, meaning at 16FPS, you're taking almost twice as long as intended for each animation. So framerate and animations are pretty variable, uncapping it reveals a lot of that volatility. An interesting side-note is that FFXI doesn't utilize GPU's very well if at all, and even a dedicated gaming rig will get reduced frame rates in a lot of cases. I can play most modern games at well over 100FPS if they're uncapped, some way higher than that even, and FFXI will still dip below 30FPS quite often. |
