Wouldn't it be too laggy for a ds? Though I'd buy all of the statues just to have em.

The New 3DS is actually quite powerful. The fact it can handle a game like Xenoblade Chronicles speaks to its processing power and memory.

I would say it's possible.

Why 3ds or nintendo? SE does not care for nintendo since ff6 (just minor titles or revamps were released so far, never a numered title) and i dont think i ever managed to make work my wifi in my 3ds.

The Vita would have a lot more trouble with it, in my opinion.

Yeah, the processing power and everything like that is great, but two screens really helps. It's a lot easier to handle the interface and user input that way. Not to mention the fact that the system has not been so stellar in sales.

Don't forget that FFXI run on a simple Playstation 2, New 3DS is way more powerfull and with her new C Stick this could make it really playable in my opinion.

Don't underestimate that thing either, keep in mind that it's able to fully play PS4 games, over the internet.
Surely the PS4 will still be doing the most work, but graphically it's all that little handheld.

The question to ask would be can Nintendo's servers handle an MMO? I think the last time they tried was Phantasy Star Online on the Gamecube? The Nintendo Club shutdown is stressing the websites servers as is. No doubt in my mind the N3DS would rock XI np and would be amazing just doubtful Nintendo server capabilities.

I think the problem he speak is not about the power of the machine, but about the screen size, and the advantage of the 3DS is to have 2 screen (1 for menu and 1 for the game for exemple)

It's streaming the game. All of the processing is being done by the PS4. Imagine your TV had a controller mounted to it. That's all the Vita is in this instance.

Except that it wasn't a "simple" PS2, it also required the 40 gigabyte hard drive.

Anyhow, SE isn't going to write a new graphics engine for an online game this old. And as others have said, they don't get along very well with Nintendo.

You can put a 32 Go micro SD card in N3DS and look like it even work with 64go and 128 go Micro SD card on new 3DS http://nintendoeverything.com/3ds-can-accept-128gb-sdxc-cards/

Storage is a pretty simple concept, and the N3DS can have more than enough of that to handle FFXI.

Pretty much. It ain't gonna happen just like SE redoing the game engine to flush out all the PS2 limitations. FFXI is what it is till the day they shut it down.
