Yeah Sih Gates right now is getting manaburned by multiple parties.
Can't say I'm surprised. x_x
I feel like mages in general have untapped potential the entire community is going to figure out once the changes take place.

I for one am looking forward to welcoming back our Black Mage overlords. Also loving the burn parties again. Need to find a good undead camp and do MNK WHM burn! Yesterday I created a manaburn party for Acuex & butterflies in Woh Gates. 29 CP in 2 hours exactly, so 435k/hour, including a few minutes of down time for 1 death ( tarutaru ). SCH BRD COR BLM SMN BLM. Was slightly better than what I was getting at bat camp in melee setup. As people have stated - any job can get high CP - just make your own party and find a camp suited to it.
If you use a combo of capacity and vocation rings in alternation you'll get a good 20-30mins that would put you on par for 530-600k cp/hr
Capacity ring has max bonus of 5000 CP, once an hour.
Vocation ring has max bonus of 12000 CP, once every 4 hours. These rings can only boost your CP by a maximum of 17000 CP in one hour. The rings are nice, but they don't contribute significantly to cp/hour rates. I have always believed the max bonus on these ring should have been multiplied by 10. Manaburning acuex solo on sch is so easy. Pyrohelix on pull brings em down to 70%, next tick 40%, cast a fire 2 and pull another, the first will die in 2-3s.

Vocation is an hr recharge and during double capacity point campaigns a magical thing happens where their CP max is also doubled. Really it has to do with somewhere on the back end during the campaign the baseline value is doubled and the rings only register the values before being doubled. Giving you a double of your max cap. Couple it with a 50% cape and its ridiculous. Wish we could get voc rings from login instead if expertise rings. Would pick every time.

Especially if Haste 2 is what you're basing the RDM's spot on. That said, in most parties I've been, even with non-conventional setups the biggest chainbreaker wasn't slow melee but the room running out of mobs to kill. RDM is pretty good if you remember the new debuff they get. Haste II all members, Refresh II healer, Distract II pull on mobs (can ditch the accuracy buffs), additional healing, and extra DD if healing's already there. Distract II is essentially doing double madrigals as it's 40-50 evasion down. Blade caps at 30 and Sword caps at 15 before merits and gear. But yeah, I'd be fine with RDM or SMN, not gonna say one is definitely better than the other for this situation though. That's kind of what I was getting at. SMN has Hastega II and a decent nuke every couple of mobs, toss in a 250 point TP bonus. The utter lack of native healing skill utterly cripples their single target cures in comparison, so their role as a healer is limited in real camps but are decent support if you got the bases covered. Why do people always think RDM's are only about Haste II goes beyond me, they provide a sh!t ton more utility then that along with solid nukes they can cast without waiting for a stupid timer. Then your sucking mud and using a weak camp that anyone and their mothers can do with trusts or do what many of us do and bring a cure mule. Go to the bigger VD+ camps and your gonna need that acc cause of SE's HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE evasion scaling post 119. You need Haste / Haste II and one or two march's plus some combination of madrigals, precision or distract to go with acc set and sushi. Or you go to a place like Doh gates where the mobs are much easier but everyone and their mother is down there since it can be done with trusts and good gear. |
