Using Windower On Steam.
Back when I used to play, this was a nightmare. Is it easy to do now? I picked it up in the steam sale, but hopefully can use Windower with it now, dem macros!!!
I know there's a way, just never done it.
I'd just install from the SE files from Playonline.com (need all 4) http://gdl.square-enix.com/ffxi/download/us/FFXISETUP.exe http://gdl.square-enix.com/ffxi/download/us/FINALFANTASYXI.Data.001 http://gdl.square-enix.com/ffxi/download/us/FINALFANTASYXI.Data.002 http://gdl.square-enix.com/ffxi/download/us/FINALFANTASYXI.Data.003 I'm completely amateur here, thanks for the reply, but what do you mean? :)
Instead of installing via steam, install from the files right from SE.
So if I download those, 1 by 1, and then just use the steam keys to register the product? Is that what you mean? I'm from the Uk, that download is a US one, is that an issue? Thanks again :)
Beautiful, thanks guys. Do I need to just setup a folder called 'FFXI' and put it all there? Or will it auto install? (Absolute nub lol)
Download the four files above into the same (any) directory then just run FFXIsetup.exe and it'll install everything up to and including SoA.
Just run the game once from steam, then windower can find it fine
What flaminglegion said.
Also in case you were wondering, you can not have your play time tracked, even if you add windower as a non-steam game it cuts off when the windower launcher closes and opens POL. |
