Memory leak in FFXIAH.COM using Chrome

I know this seems bizarre - but I have seen this behavior occur on 3 different PCs - on completely different networks so I do not think this is user error. However since the behavior is so odd I wont rule it out yet.
I have been noticing that my PC gets sluggish over time (a period of days). And when I close chrome, and re-open it - it seems to get right back to its non-sluggish self.
The last time this happened I was determined to try to find the cause. I use Chrome.
I noticed that one of the chrome processes was taking up over 2 GB of memory.
Using the Chrome task bar (Chrome 3 bar menu icon > Tools > Task Manager) I could see that the tab that was using up all the memory was the tab that was sitting on my FFXIAH profile.
This seemed very odd - there was nothing special going on - nothing being refreshed on the page from what I could tell.
I closed the tab, and re-opened it. Memory for that tab decreased from 2+GB to under 30M - at first. Then I noticed that the tab was gobbling up 150k a *second*. I just let it sit there and watched it, and the tab for the FFXIAH page just kept growing and growing in terms of memory usage - as verified by the Chrome Task manager.
I tried all different pages from the FFXIAH web site - and the only correlation I could come up with is that if the page produced a scroll bar on the far right, I would eat up 150k per second. If there was no scroll bar, then memory would be stable. Also, memory growth only seems to happen when the tab is active.
Can someone else verify that this also happens to them - or is this happening to me only?

I've noticed this. I always close the FFXIAH tab as a result. It started happening around 6-8 days ago.

Bizarre, not bazaar. Unless you're selling something.

I could possibly see it being causes by the shout box on the main page but I can't think of what would cause it on any others. O.o

I've noticed issues with it on Chrome as well. The site crashes quite often as a result.

I've not noticed anything and I pretty much keep an AH page open full time on both home and work pc. I'll have to keep an eye on it and see if I notice.

Just tested it myself and yea, each page no matter where on ffxiah.com it increases by ~150 Kb per second. Never noticed it even though I use this site all the time, perks of 24gb of RAM; and they said I'd never use it all haha.

I left it open for a long time and didn't see any changes at first, but then I realized it is only when I have a tab active and it only does it for the active tab. Any active tab will slowly increase although for me it is not 150k, it is 128k and can go up and down but mostly up.
I have one thread up at 583,380k now.

No worries. Everyone seems to forget that Christianity started it's base with Egyptian mythology but then Christianity turned around and discredited their own source.
!
I sound like a P&R dude! I better shush... my... memory leak with chrome, yeah, that'll be taken care of soon.

Speaking of memory, it may not just be limited to chrome, sitting at 1.2 being used and just closed everything else, and the only plugin that should be active is adblock.
I'll go verify my others and see if I can produce the same results after a reload.

Doesn't seem to affect Firefox here.

No, it was some of my plugins, I'm willing to bet it was the M$ office one, I really need to do a better job of not letting those install.

Out of curiosity I left a browser open all day on my desktop pc refreshing every 20 minutes, right now chrome is up to almost 3gb used memory. I rarely leave a browser open that long and have 32gb of ram, I probably never would have noticed the leak. Latest version of chrome, 8.1 pro, basic browser extensions. I'm going to disable extensions and see what I get overnight, but I have a suspicion that it's either shockwave or flash that's the issue.

Most likely, I don't notice it much anymore except when the browser starts acting up, and I usually just restart my plugin container and boom, it's back to normal.
But I almost always have this, facebook and google voice open.

Could it be the ads?

I did start seeing those annoying as crap self starting video ads show up recently, but I think it has to be related to an extension, I'll see what it looks like in the morning. I'm not sure if there is a way to test plugins individually, process of elimination is all I've got.

I'm pretty sure Scragg has said before that if we get any of those to message him, as we're not supposed to get them.
