I cant seem to figure this out today. But my minds been pretty whacked lately with everything going on. I didn't realize that the ceiling fan in my new room had a fan... -_- Thats how bad its gotten atm.

I just want to put a Dvd onto my hdd as a single file and be able to watch it on my comp. So far ive only manage to create a bunch of Video_TS folders. And im not eager to start randomly downloading programs advised to use on a search.

1. Find and use DVD video ripper.
2. Convert said video to specified format.
3. Storage video for future use.
4. Good luck.

http://www.winxdvd.com/dvd-ripper/

I use this for the DVD Ripping I do at work, I use the free version and it works great. You can pick the formats you rip to, ect.

Mind you I don't really rip a lot retail DVD Movies, so your millage my vary.

anydvd and imgburn

If you want it smaller than a full .iso, going to have to transcode it, anydvd+ handbrake would suffice.

I've never paid for anydvd, and there's plenty of cracks available, I'm not sure of an open source or free alternative yet.

hand brake did the job of ripping it quite well, I use mkv personally, but you may think of how you're using the file (any streaming?) before you chose which format. I accidentally ripped at too high of a sample rate last time and ended up with like a 15GB Die Hard rip.

Just a warning: it's been found a violation of the law to break the copy protection on a dvd, just a heads up.

That reminds me, I need to rerip those, as I deleted them from my hard drive. I guess I could just as easily torrent them, I just prefer to stream them than keep track of the dvd.
