It was stated on page 2 that they are planning to reduce it from 30 to 10 to start.

I couldn't translate the kanji but couldn't it be 200 pts cumulative from all jobs? In other words, you can only spend a total of 200 points of all the jobs at 99.

I have a bad feeling that monstrosity is the best way to accumulate these pts if it's no based off experience points.

I couldn't translate the kanji but couldn't it be 200 pts cumulative from all jobs? In other words, you can only spend a total of 200 points of all the jobs at 99.

I have a bad feeling that monstrosity is the best way to accumulate these pts if it's no based off experience points.

I don't think we have to worry about that. The 200 points is either a storage for that job (can hold up to 200 points similarly to how you can hold up to 30 merits) to spend later or a cap of how many you can spend in that one job. For example capping both Mighty Strikes and Berserk JP's in march would take 20JP so that number could go to 20/200 for WAR only.

I just read the official page in Japanese:

Nowhere does it state that it will start off at 10 point cap and move up to the 30. So whoever translated it and came up with that translated from a different source, because it is not there in Japanese. Just like in English its content in development and there will be more than just 2 options to upgrade per job.

Correct me if I'm whooshing, but when you merit anything that increases duration or lowers recast doesn't it still say something like "Your Sneak Attack effect rises to level X?

Also while the 1 hours are still very potent I could see some little perks being added to them. Some ideas I could see them doing for enhancing effects of the Lv1 1HRs:

That particular one is "Sneak Attack Recast" in game. A year ago or so they went through and changed all the merits wording to be in line with what they actually do.

A good example is the DRK. They get 2 merits "Last Resort Effect" like what the JP says about Mighty Strikes and also "Last Resort Recast" which is what you were thinking it might do. This is why we're saying it's most likely a boost to current effects or an added effect to the 1hrs.

The English version of the game takes a number of linguistic shortcuts do most likely to character limitations. If you get a text log read out saying "Your sneak attack effect rises to level X", what they are really saying is "The merit category named 'sneak attack (recast)' rises to level X". Who knows why they dropped the word 'recast'? Maybe they didn't want it to say ".. recast rises to.."? Translators make some very in the moment descisions sometimes.

JP text in XI is much more consise and clear in most cases. For all merits which affect duration they use the phrase "(ability)使用間隔". 使用 = "use" and 間隔 = "interval". This is typically translated as 'recast'.

The screen shot provided clearly says (mighty strikes)効果アップ. 効果 = "effect" and アップ = "up".

Duration! :D Benediction is probably one of the truest 1hrs in the game. Would be tough to improve on, also don't understand why people laugh at the relic body Bene aug. If I'm going to be using Benediction, ***has hit the fan. Max -enm will help me not get owned afterwards.

Would like to see Sacrosanctity get a boost, either with a lower recast or have it protect against more spells. At the moment it requires almost perfect judgement from the WHM to be used effectively. Or pick a staple WHM spell and enhance on that?

SAMI would be most interested in, more WSs during 1hr would be nice or meditate++. I have faith in SE with what they have added job wise recently.
