I know this may sound like a stupid question, but I figure it can't hurt anything and I might learn a thing or two. I've been having a hard time farming sparks of eminence and I've done just about every single one there is to do along with the sub-quests that are activated after doing 50/100 and etc.

I guess my real question is, how do you farm sparks solo, what has been your best tried and true method, and/or what jobs/areas seemed to work best for you. If you're someone who is worried about your 'idea' being stolen feel free to message me anywhere possible. Thanks again for your time everyone, I really appreciate it.

I would think the 500 damage would be the best? Can just ga everything as BLM, should pick it up pretty fast. Not tried it myself tho.

I have been considering things for this too. I havent tested it but I think places with fast repops are ideal like strays in promyvion and double/triple dipping objectives.

I found your strategy to be easiest so far. I've been doing frogs, stoneskin, phalanx, refresh, train all the frogs to pond, sleep. Stonega II until HP Permits, sleep, stonega II, rinse repeat. Getting about 5,000 Sparks an hour. If I could do this outside of Abyssea I could be getting more by stacking crystals, monster vanquish, and possibly even area kills. Anyone have any ideas?

Normally i go power level in bostauniex as blm. Pull 8 leeches at a time, stonega for 1000 till and repeat till everyone is dead. Take times till mp start lacking, also capped in elemental magic, leeches wont interupt you.

Can do at same time conflict bostauniex, spoil: water crystal, +500 dmg, 200 kills.

Ofc bostauniex isnt the place to spark farming. That is a traditional alliance exp party. If i see a solo trying to spark farming and refusing to join party, while i want experience, i wont think 2 times to aja all the leeches. Maybe maze of shakrami, that have a room filled of mobs and not really populated can be a reasonable choice.

I found Bostaunieux to be nearly perfect aside from the leeches losing aggro so easily because of the water. Is there a way you know of to prevent this or do you just need to walk super slow? The leeches also take 500+ dmg via Stonega instead of stonega II like the other mobs also so that's a definite bonus.

I had the luck of stumbling across an empty Bostaunieux this morning and got aggravated because I kept losing the leeches after a matter of 5 steps. For now I'm running around the bottom of Kuftal taking everything that moves with me trying not to piss anyone off. Not sure if it's working better than Bostaunieux or not at this point. Thanks for all the help so far! :)

My favorite so far has been The Boyahda Tree, especially on Vermin, Plant, or Beast challenges. To help with xp for merits, I get the Grounds Tome for whatever is the target of the test and use BLM to train and Stonega them all to death. Plant or Beast can be done on the first map in either (or both) of the two main open areas. For Vermin, its better to go where the second tier crawlers are.

The leeches are lazy and will lose hate. Need to choose a limited number and work. If one stand behind, i normally cast stone in it to get hate. Anyway, the max kill you can get exp in a single spell is 8 so normally i avoid pulling much more than that.

First floor of the boyadha tree. Everything links or aggros. Set boyadha tree, earth crystal, water crystal, 500 dmg, and 200 kills. Blm/rdm with 3 healerish~ trust npcs (I use trion, joachim, and kupipi). Just run from room to room doing Stonega spam, spirit taker if you run low on mp. I finish the 500 dmg trial about once every 7 minutes.

BLM itself is useful for doing mobs that will give you xp at the same time. And thus do GoV/FoV pages along with 3 or 4 RoE quests. Stuff like monsters killed, 500 damage, crystals, area, etc.

Using a BLM (or better still a RDM) monster in monstrosity is also a really good way.
You forego the xp mobs unless you fight high enough level stuff. And obviously can never get GoV/FoV bonus xp.
But by replacing what is a 200 RoE quest (xp mobs killed) with a 100 quest (Mobs killed as a monster) you more than balance it out.

- The best way I have found of taking advantage of this way is a level 60+ monster. Because at this level and up you can just sneak your Stone II spells above 500.
- Low level zone with a decent RoE page reward if you're intending to xp the monster at the same time. You know the ones.
- Just simply walk the zone nuking single mobs with Stone II and packs with Stonega II.

You will kill the 100 monsters every 10-12 mins or so. So that's 5-6 completions an hour for 5k-6k sparks.
Couple of completions of the 200 damage one added in adds a few more sparks for you.
It's brainless though. And gets boring after an hour or so. Upside is, you WILL level the monster pretty quickly too. Whilst hammering away at the sparks.
You won't need many rests for MP till the high levels. And even then as a RDM you can convert pretty regularly to pretty much take resting out of the picture.

This second method obviously requires having some decent magic based instincts to set to do as low as 60 while still getting 500 for the Stone II's.
I timed myself for an hour one day and got just less than 9k sparks in an hour. That was actually not resting though.
So it's not uber quick. But like said, it's completely brainless and easy. You can just afk any time safely too.

DRK/SAM or THF/DNC - Rala Waterways.

Trust NPCs - Kupipi Joachim Ulmia.
Can also use Lion (TH), Nanaa (TH), Naja Salaheem (DD) if you want to change it up or want TH.

Set these:- 500+, Wind Crystal, Earth Crystal, Vanquish Enemies I, (all the Deal damage ones if you ain't done), Dark Crystal. Conflict Rala Waterways I and II, Water Crystal.

See which day you are on, and choose geode/ite. (Firesday = Fire Geode, Ifritie)

Kill Funguar and Frogs over and over. Can move out of the small area you fight if you're killing too fast to keep up the chain. I can do chains of 100+ before I get bored/run too slow/walls come down. Farmed many chapters this way, no competition.

If you are THF, you need max treasure hunter. If you are a heavy DD, you want to be hitting 500+ on melee hits regularly to get the most out of it. Go with whichever works/is more fun for you. I find my THF makes it easier to keep up chains, but my DRK does a lot more 500+ due to using relic.

By the way, this method was found on this forum somewhere. Thanks to whoever suggested it originally.
