Do The Wiki Sites Update Anymore?

Blue Gartr, FFXI Wiki, Gamerescape

I've been trying to find a guide somewhere for how to get the Christmas gloves and have not yet been able to find a guide, anywhere. Not that it matters anymore, the event is over and I missed out.

But now there is a chance to get 4 (5?) ciphers and I refuse to miss out on that. None of the sites are posting any information about how to do this.

"Several NPCs will appear in the areas below for the duration of the event. Tradinging certain items to specific NPCs will grant various boons and special items."

Great, what NPCs? What items? The official site doesn't help past that. I'm waiting on my system to update so that I can play but I have no information to read up on while I wait! I remember years ago when people were uploading so much information to the FFXI Wiki that it was hard to keep up with. I preferred that over this lack of information.

Does anyone have any idea where I go to get better info now?

Sadly most new things are discussed on forum boards before they become codified (eventually) onto the various wiki's.

The above was the BG Trust thread, which has various bits of info, if you care to go page-by-page. :/ Sorry if that's a bit of an exercise, but that's better than no info or trying to figure everything out by scratch through the game.

Are the ciphers listed on this site? I tried searching for them and unless I'm searching incorrectly, I can't get any information on how to obtain them from the new event.

Thanks Schutz, I'm not that lazy that I won't search through a thread to find the information, I just suck at finding where the information is to start searching (I hope I worded that correctly). Especially when there are so many different forums for FFXI, if only one site has the information, it's hard to know which one to go with.

Well, thank you for that help. Now I just need to figure out how to get Lion. And since they have yet to post it on the official page, I am pretty sure it's safe to assume she isn't out yet.
