Can't tell you which one is best - but here's some info on the hog.

I've only tried out the hog so far, and it seems pretty interesting:
Zealous snort - Bestows haste, increases guard and counter rate and increases magic defense.
Guard/counter could suggest it's a Monk type, however, it does not attack two times per round but does possess double attack trait.
The above attack costs 3 charges as you might expect, and when you couple this with Familiar haste, gear haste he attacks with very little delay between rounds.

How do you actually obtain the axe that the OP has posted about? I checked all sources (BG, GE, and ffxiclopedia) and can't really find anything.
