A few of us on the Phoenix server are doing Kumhau and are noticing it tends to take less damage will running around, similar to Ig-Alima, only it seems to reset after he stops moving for a little while. Thoughts?

Anyone else noticing this? is there already a thread for this?

I don't think it's associated with his movement or anything, but when he has his aura up he takes far less damage, though I don't know if it's a % damage decrease or an increase in magic evasion.

Once we got people to stop kiting him his aura was off and he was going down a lot faster. It's hard to work it out in all that chaos.

Still no damage from non-COR/GEO though. Need to figure out how to get normal damage above 0.

Last night when I did him, his aura was coming up regardless of whether or not he was running around, so I don't think it's related to him moving around. Given what was happening, it seems one of his TP moves gives him the aura.

Baelorn, if your server is like ours, it's just an issue of the colonization rate for Kamihr being too low, and the only way to remedy that would be to up the colonization rate by doing reives.

There's nothing to figure out, you need to increase the colonization rate in the area to remove some of his DT-.

We definitely need to work on the rate, its was at 14%, the issue is that everyone is so dead set on spamming every WK back to back 24/7 that no one does Reives.

Seems like all naakual/delve boss drop his aura using the opposite element magic up to aa limit. The most know aura is from yumcax (earth) due to its regen effect, became worldwide known that its dispelled by dealing a certain amount of wind dmg.
Kumhau aura (ice) seems dispelled by fire dmg. And the effect seems to be something like take 2-3x magic dmg, because quickdraw isnt affected by resistance, and pre aura dispelled i was dealing 500-600, post 1100-1800.
The reason i think youre dealing more dmg when hes parked is the reason why yumcax is so hard to kill. There is No way to win those 2 if damn pld cant hold it. Corsairs must stand in a fix position so he can do theirs random deal rotation. If dude is running all the field, corsairs need to go after, losing time of qd, also, naakual start killing every cor after 2 shots, slowing even more. As aura wont drop if an amount of dmg isnt done, seems logic, if hes running around, he will take less dmg, his aura will be always up.
Yesterday, after 3 hours of him killing everyone till, pld learned how to hold damn beast. All cors started to rotate and fire, huge dmg were done, his aura kept off full fight and in 1 hour he dropped from 60 to 0.
Overall, kumhau is way easier than yumcax due its aura being a lot less troublesome and have less dmg that can kill pld, unlike yumcax doom moves, that often finish plds.

Do you need the KIs from "Breaking the Ice" quest to do damage to Kumhau?

Quote:
damage reduction of the Naakual will be proportional to the colonization rate of the Naakual's area, with the Naakual taking no normal damage at very low colonization rates (forms of damage that normally bypass shields, such as Quick Draw, are not affected by this reduction and are extremely useful at lower colonization rates).

In other words, if your colonization rate for the area is anywhere below... I'm gonna say ~30%, you're probably not gonna do ***to it.
