Is there a way/how do you, to discontinue service (and billing) of 11 but leave the option open to reactive that account later? I'm currently set up with direct payment from a bank card.

With my physical disability, Ive been living with and relying on my dad. But he died unexpectedly yesterday. So i probably wont have any time for 11 for a while. Much less money'

You should be able to simply cancel service through your Square-Enix account and reactivate later.

As Houp said, sorry for your loss.

I don't have the process memorized, especially since SE uses rather odd terminology, but it amounts to deactivating your active Content IDs. You shouldn't lose anything by doing so. I can't log in to the site now, but I will when I get home and try to type up a walkthrough.

Sorry for your loss. :( When I quit for awhile, I had direct payment on my card and I did cancel subscription and I thought it was fine. But next few months I figured out that it reactivated somehow and was still billing me, or never actually canceled. So the safe bet for me was selecting payment as Crysta and just never re-upping on Crysta. I'm not really sure what happened with direct pay, I was probably just dumb and forgot a step!

Good luck sir. :<

1. Go to: https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/Login?cont=account

2. Log in with your info

3. Click on Playonline/Final Fantasy XI Service Accounts

4. Under Active Service Accounts click Options List

5. Under Active options check all of your active characters.

6. Click Cancel.

7. Click Next.

8. Click Cancel Options.

9. Click Done.

You should be good after that.

If you want to ensure you don't get billed after cancellation you can always cancel the direct debit on your bank side (in UK that's easily done on internet banking, not sure about other countries, but a phone call/visit to your bank will def. get it sorted)

yea i had thought about the cancel service options on the SE page, but i wasnt sure if they could be reactived as an account later. Individual characters i had done before, but not the whole thing. I also considered switching it to crysta as well since there is none on my account.
