I had to contact SE support one time about a billing issue and they told me something that was an obvious lie and exited the session within the same second.
Was it with Jennifer A or Jordan G? Don't contact SE through chat, those two are horrendous at customer service, Jennifer flat out disconnected on me while I was typing out my problem

So you were able to log in to your SE account briefly and then your ability went away again?
When I reset my square enix password I noticed that my token had been unregistered/deactivated and I had to just enter my new password without the one time password to get back in.
I really would like some answers as to what's happening but not sure I have it in me to fight through SE customer support. I may give it one more try first thing tomorrow. Did they give you a temp password and did you not change the password during the time you had access? Or am I missing something?
Depending on what you request, they have to unlink your token in order to proceed (I asked some weird stuff to be done to my content IDs a few years ago and they had to do this).

I think I'm leaning towards hardware/software corruption or malfunction on SE's end at this point more than being hacked. I suppose they could be super hackers and fell for my ploy and was just waiting for me to reactivate and log in and then in 20 minutes manage to strip all of my characters and accounts, delete them, and disable the security token. It really is hard to tell without SE's help as there are several coincidental factors on both sides of the argument.
Then again my experimentation might not even be able to help Ryanx get answers and may not be related at all. I could be veering off course. I tried to re-register my security token and got the serial number entered is incorrect. I blame the Chinese. someone hacked me again chainged email address on account i cant get it back
Have you scanned your computer?

Since it's likely past the usual hours of SE's operations, I'd recommend doing some virus busting on your system tonight. Won't do you much good to wait 1-4 hours on the phone with SE, get things back, then just instant lose it all over again, you know? May simply be a widespread key logger issue? Has any "fake update" of our favourite Windower/whatever plug ins been distributed somewhere?

Dunno if the guy didn't know what he was talking about or if they changed it or what. the SE site wouldnt let me re-add my old token (after my account was compromised), i had to order another one. edit: i never actually tried talking a customer support rep. about it, i just figured the 10bux i'd spend on long distance waiting to talk to someone, i'd just order another one. Just to try and rule out as many options as possible. I downloaded windower 4 , all of taint's xml's and motentens xml's. Then I went to the program that will not be named but begins with a C and ends with an upper. That got mcafee to block and quarantine a Trojan. I don't know if that helps in any way.
I did a system restore when I couldn't log back into pol. So far I still have access to SE's account management page, although the characters aren't there so eh. I don't know if I was able to recreate ryanx's experience or not or if it's all random. And if he never used windower 4 or third party tools then I did those steps for nothing. XD Where are you SE? Am I helping at all? lol I will find answers! Still leaning towards hardware/software at this point, but if ryanx's email address was changed AGAIN that kind of throws a blanket over that. Just too hard to tell without SE being able to look at the characters post game freeze.
If you still have that "cup of coffee"'s zip/rar laying around. Upload it to https://www.virustotal.com/ and see if it comes back completely clean. 1-2/40 detections is usually okay but if its more, that's probably your culprit.
I literally unlinked my first token, linked it back, unlinked it one week later and linked it back again.
They can do it for you over the chat. If you contacted the US support though, they aren't really competent and often follow what is easier for them rather than what would actually help the customer. Can be safely assumed 10/39 since mcafee was one of the one's that timed out and it quarantined a Trojan upon running the .exe Of course , this means nothing if ryanx didn't have it. Meh, really need to get ahold of SE for more info. so SE is emailing me a fourm i got to print off and take to a notery and mail it back to them before they can reset my SE account >.>
Sounds like what other people have experienced in getting a character rolled back.
Did you actually get to talk to someone? Did you ask anything like... can you tell from the logs if my character had any activity after the game froze and I couldn't get back in? I'd kind of like to hear them confirm that it was hacked or if it was data corruption or accidental deletion or some such. My friend said SE is making him fill out a form and email it back to them afterwards, but didn't say he had to have it notarized.
ya they supposed to email me a form but have not got the email yet
