I just got a wireless adapter thing for my controllers last night and I was just testing it out on some games to see what it worked on and what didn't.
So far, everything except TF2.
Xbox controller works on my TF2, I did it for some testing a little while back.

Looking at these joysticks makes me miss my first true love when it came to video games:
Flight simulators.
But this was when I was like 9 years old and I was obsessed with aviation of any kind.
Then I grew up and fell in love with epic JRPGs and their unrivaled storytelling.

On a more serious note, I've been thinking about how FFXI will be after FFXIV is released. A safe assumption is that at least 40% of the people that play FFXI currently, will make the jump to FFXIV, or play both but put more emphasis on the newer game (For obvious reasons).
That means there will be roughly 600 people per server during slow times, and 1400 max at peak NA time (Maybe higher during JP time, but I also believe more JPs will switch to FFXIV, due to technology being more accessible there than in the US, and a working computer for FFXIV not costing 800+ dollars).
Anyway, that means parties will almost exclusively die out, it will be impossible to shout for stuff, no one will ever win a Besieged again, linkshells will break, leaving HNMs up 24/7 with no competition...

Yeah I think anything outside of endgame will be pretty empty. If they aren't all hardcore, they'll want something new and shiny, which FFXIV excels in.

And FFXIV isn't as dull as Age of Conan is. The issue was Age of Conan had no endgame content (much like Aion, Star Trek, etc.) So, has SE addressed that before releasing it? Judging by the short time it's been in beta etc. etc, I doubt it. Time will tell.

I guess, technically, in a worst case scenario, yes, people will give up on FFXIV and all move back to FFXI. But then there will people that will just be like "*** SE" and quit both, and either way, the population of FFXI is still going to drop by a lot.
Regardless, FFXIV is made by the same people that made FFXI, I would be genuinely surprised if they don't have such a wealth of endgame content sooner or later, like XI did.

There is nothing to talk about when it comes to FFXIV as per SE released no info about the game passed Starting zone and well "only 1 starting zone" so nothing about Endgame or features it has that other MMOs don't
I expect them to start rolling info about the game when the beta ends but dude thats pretty late and hell they are being cheap on advertisement

Since we all can't be on the same linkshell in game, this can be our cross server linkshell thread.
Like most linkshells, it can be pretty dead at times. Other times it's full of intense conversations about either rl, gear, goals, pokemon or anything else you want to contribute.
We can cover any sort of topic at all, within reason of the forum rules. No real main topic, just a bunch of FFXIAH friends/people coming on and discussing random things.

Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
