Bleh, I probably won't be getting my phone anytime soon. My mobile service provider sucks and requires me to have a $30/month data plan for the android phone I want, even though it has wifi capacity and can obtain free internet that way. So I'd have to dish out $230 (phone with tax) -50 (rebate) +30 (internet). What a drag... Might just save up a lil more and go with it.

I'm stuck with this HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE "family plan" (but only counts up to 2 lines and charges more per line activation? WTF) and I've been stuck/loyal with T-fail for 8 years now. As far as I can tell I'm stuck with them for another 2 year contract extension. I suppose I'll just get a lil more money and dish out the $260 (I'll get 50 back when the rebate shows up) for the my-touch slide and internet plan -_-

I refuse to buy into that lousy thing. (yes, I have an iPod touch, different thing though lol) my gf has one and ... I can't really say i'm likin it too much, I'll lose service randomly, and .. it sometimes decides to stop working.
I'm using a Samsung Epix right now, works really well for what I want.
that Evo looks *** sexy though.

If I weened off my family plan shared with my stepdad, mom and grandma I'd definitely have to do a no-contract pay as you go kinda thing. Cept the phones available for that suck ***. And having internet for that would be kinda limited or awkward huh?
Edit: I could just buy an unlocked android phone I like and toss in a new sim card from a service provider I can get contract-free service as I go right?

Yeah, the deal is you're stuck with whatever company plan for 2 years and they give you a discount on a phone. In my case i'd be extending my existing contract for 2 years (upgrade basically) and would get the phone for $180 after rebate, but still gotta give em $30 per month for those 2 years since android phones "require" their internets -.-
Which is *** cause those things have wifi for a reason. Everywhere I'd realistically use this phone has a hotspot or my own personal AP nearby.

Well I suppose $180 isn't too harsh for sticking with T-fail for another 2 years and getting their flagship phone. Not fond of blowing $30 a month for internets but I figure its either that or blow $400+ for the phone unlocked and live off of wifi for internet and still pay tmobile for their mediocre service lol.
