People were clinically depressed because Avatar was not real. Some people even committed suicide because the movie felt so real to them, they were so disappointed when they came back to real life.
That sounds pretty hyped up to me.
That's because people are HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE. But yes the world created in the movie is THAT BEAUTIFUL. But you're right, having not seen the film you are clearly an expert on discussing it....I hate stupid people.
