Okay, I have an interesting theory that maybe others can help elaborate on.
Now let's assume you had a rare/ex item that came from a NM already. Assuming you claim this NM again, it should already be pre-determined not to drop it again since you already possess the drop since it is rare. However, let's say after the claim you invite a friend or whatever who does not have it. Would it still be locked in that pre-determined stasis of not dropping or would it quickly be overwritten because of the invited friend?
Now let's assume you had a rare/ex item that came from a NM already. Assuming you claim this NM again, it should already be pre-determined not to drop it again since you already possess the drop since it is rare. However, let's say after the claim you invite a friend or whatever who does not have it. Not sure if that's actually how it works, but I know people haven't got a Joyeuse drop under these circumstances.

Cause this *** Fruitflythree makes me wanna kick a puppy, going around getting claim on LL as she's already wearing the boots, then saying "oh I invited my brd friend leveling here to get the drop for them" when I have not seen them in a party or in party status at all. If she claims again and I dont see her in yellow or blue in /search on claim i'm gonna GM her for grieving.

I had the same thing happen to me. I swore I'd never do LL again. She's HORRIBLE!
